As a follow-up to last week's episode I'm talking about how we can actually learn to slow down in this fast-paced society of ours that values speed, accomplishment, and acquisition. First understand why it's essential to slow down and enjoy each moment of your life and then gradually get used to taking "slow dates" with yourself. Here are some tips for doing that:
Remember that life is fleeting.
Cherish each moment of life that is given to you.
Be willing to see the inner aspect of yourself (thoughts, emotions, Shadow) and of your entire life.
Start with one 15 minute slow activity per day (like a slow walk or slow meal.)
Add a weekly longer slow date of 1-2 hours (read, people-watch, make a craft, bake)
Then once a month spend a half-day or more doing something alone like going for a hike, watching a play, visiting a museum or gallery."It’s about knowing and passionately loving the things we value. And designing our lives to spend the most time possible enjoying them." - Kayte Ferris
