Earn is just a kid in junior high trying to look fly in his new FUBU jersey until he realizes it's a fake. A Black kids wearing fake name brand clothes it's a violation of the worst offense. Phenomblak, MsMusiclover, Twanburgandy and Xmike make sure to cover it all in detail to show love for this Atlanta that truly is Donald Glover's.
Being Black sometimes comes with rules that make no sense but are set back a standard that our own culture has to take responsibility for establishing. Teasing and bullying kids over not being able to afford expensive clothes and shoes or worse, rocking fake name brand clothes and shoes that usually are expensive has always been part of our community. We pride ourselves on style and representation. Having nice clothes "is important" to Black people, but at what cost? This episode explores depression, bullying, materialistic values, peer pressure, suicide, and the struggles of being an adolescent just trying to survive the world.
