  • EP. 48 ...and who might you be?

If this episode doesn’t prove that Corinne and I were separated at birth, I don’t know what further proof you would need. We begin by channeling our inner “old ladies” chatting about Black Friday sales and our respective purchases. Of course, we stumble into one of our favorite topics: Are we dating the same guy and bumble profiles.

We then get into the uncomfortable conversation about forgetting peoples names that we’ve definitely hooked up with followed by Al losing it when Corinne recounts a recent date in which she was asked to go Dutch- at a very inopportune time.

We also talk weddings based on a swimmer's voicemail message which led us into: bridesmaid etiquette, Al’s interaction with a professional bridesmaid, and the taboo topic of hiring an escort. Anything that you’re interested in I guarantee you this episode has it. I love my girl Cookie. Love ya’ll SWIMmers for supporting our nonsense weekly.

    Enjoy!

  • EP. 47 Light Aversion

SWIMmers! Sorry for the later-than-normal episode drop.

This episode wasn’t a normal one, so this bio will not be either. Frankly, it was difficult to edit; there were “light sensitivity” issues that can only be described as medical grade.

However, it didn’t take away from this podcast.

Unexpectedly, it made it one of my favorite episodes.

We are our unbridled selves throughout this entire conversation. I had tears while re-editing.

Episode 48- If you’re still riding with us- you’ll love this episode.

  • EP. 46 Putting the “spice” in hospice!

We cling to the toys we associate with our childhood, because they represent our last grasp at innocence. Before the world grabs you by the collar, holds you up against your locker and goes through your pockets before stating: “...this is life now, get used to it nerd!”

Yes; I am channeling 5th grade, but my larger point is:

being an adult is terrible, it’s awful.

That’s what makes certain toys from our childhood that much more important whether it be: Legos, Cabbage Patch dolls, Super Mario on Nintendo or even boring-ass Monopoly.

We all love these toys from our childhood.

Well, we've found one person that has such a reaction to one of these childhood icons that it led to a story I have not stopped laughing about since hearing it.

Cookie, almost 50 episodes into this podcast, still manages to surprise me over and over again.

It would be well within our rights to just tell that story about this childhood toy and end the show- but never that!

    Not  in this economy.

We have to give you some “bang” for your proverbial “buck”, and we do just that by Corinne getting to the final chapter in the Lord of the Pink Ring saga. A saga that involves: an unsullied hot tub, clear purses, missed connections with buffaloes and a rug that nearly turned this into a one-man podcast.

This is one for the ages.

  • EP. 45 Will you take this 4-finger ring?

My people! It's great to be back with another dope episode.

Halloween has come and gone but the memories have not faded from the minds of our beloved Coco n’ Al. Al went as a famous music legend, Corinne went as… well… I don’t even think I’m allowed to explain any further.

As for Halloween; Corinne had quite the night, it started with what can only be described as the world’s most polite “assault”, followed by fun and games in the grocery store.

Nobody on the show Supermarket Sweep, has run faster through the aisles than this individual. I guess life really is all about incentives.

The two segue into a difficult , but necessary conversation about how to use the bathroom on vacation with a current lover when there’s: one room, one bathroom and a number two that can’t wait.

Finally as if the topic of: “Race kink” play couldn’t have gotten any more uncomfortable we have a follow-up listener email that makes that conversation look like polite chat on a breezy mid-summers eve.

    You. Will. Love. This.

    Enjoy!

  • EP. 44 We can’t talk until you wash your hands boo.

Can you name a scenario in which the phrase: Salmon Hands can be used in a good way?

You can’t can you because it’s impossible.

Salmon hands is the nickname you get in the fourth grade that eventually leads to your parents having a hushed, closed-door meeting in their bedroom before ultimately deciding to move school districts- because that nickname is something that you cannot out run.

You’ll learn today besides what are Salmon Hands. You’ll also learn about Corinne's never ending date that involved: a brunch with no food, a poor parking job, forced dog sitting, an art gallery, expiring wine, a hot tub and most importantly, a check for breakfast … split for two. His/hers.

    Here are more words: deal/breaker.

Finally we ask the question: "Did Corinne potentially pass up THE Steve Jobs of CROCS; not realizing the brilliance that was standing before her?"

Our favorite platonic couple also has a brief quarrel about the official hours of brunch and our pair also helps a SWIMmer with an interesting question: Is dating a podcaster you're a fan of; a good idea?

Listen to ol’ salmon hands before you make your final decision.

    Enjoy!

  • EP. 43 Lord of the (Toilet) Rings: A Tale of 4 Bowls

Never have I ever had to work so hard to edit a podcast. Normally editing a podcast can prove difficult if: there is a lot of dead air, things are said that are unfunny or the hosts are saying things that could get someone canceled.

None of those things apply to this podcast.

The reason it took me so long to edit this podcast was because Cookie was laughing so hard at the story that she was telling that it was over modulating the audio software.  Mind you that is software used to record rock bands, electric guitars, etc.  This software handles piercing instruments with no problem, but yet- it could not figure out a way to regulate Corinne's uncontrollable joy.

I shall forewarn you that this was one of the funniest episodes ever while also being one of the saddest.

Why? Because life isn’t always pretty kids.

Sometimes your hero gets beat up right in front of you like the Karate Kid.

But in this case our hero will redeem themselves...

    or will they?

I guess you have to listen to find out.

We also get into a SWIMmers very serious question about: a new partner with a taboo kink. A classic episode if I must say so myself.

    Enjoy!

  • EP. 42  Reading, Riding & ‘Rhythmic

    3 Questions for the SwimTeam:

    • What would Jesus do? More specifically: Would Jesus tip his Uber driver? The answer may surprise you.
    • If Corinne pee’s in the woods and Al’s not there to tell her: “this is why people shouldn’t camp”- did it happen? I’m not sure that’s how that colloquialism goes but what I am sure of is Corinne (and myself) have no business camping and this episode proves it.
    • Did Are We Dating The Same Guy violate Cookie’s first amendment rights?
    • Al tells a CLASSIC story: about the miracle of children(?); finally the two dive head first into a great question from SWIMmer “Pastor T” about social media and online dating.

    • EP. 41 Secure the bag! Wait... not THAT bag.

“Secure the bag”: is a phrase used in popular culture to remind all of us: that it’s money over everything.

Normally securing the bag is a good thing, except in our girl Cookie’s case because her bag, may come with a lifetime warranty.

As we all settle in to a cozy, fall -mindset; we go back to some old favorites that’ll warm you inside more than your grandmother's hot cocoa. You know the cocoa you secretly spike with Kalua & Baileys when she’s not looking. Yeah, THAT cocoa. Also-not judgement. So consider: are we dating the same guy, you’re Bailey’s; and Denver singles your cognac- two things that have been getting you through this crazy life and 24 straight years of grandma telling the exact same story.

Albert & Cookie also discuss their crazy exes and what is a "dead giveaway” for when somebody has “lost the thread and needs professional help that you cannot provide. Finally, our pair throws a life vest…not a lifevest. What’s the circle thing that’s also an emoji? The orange circle thing that people don’t really use in emergencies, but it’s always on some cokehead's yacht, on the wall of a mid-tier fish place or a fancy rooftop pool that’s impossible to drown in? Whatever. We throw one of those to a SWIMmer who needs help telling a friend, “you’re f*cking up our circle.”

All that and more as well as what you call the: circular-orange-“life-vest” that you can’t wear you can just throw to people- in this episode. Enjoy.

    • EP.40 TRUE embarrassment comes in layers... like cheesecake.

“Goin’ to the Berkshire’s and we’re gonna get married…”

      That’s right!

The five episode story arc of Corinne going to our beloved Sami's wedding has finally reached its climax, where’s a hotel wash cloth and a cig when ya need it!?

We know Sami found true love, but did Corinne ?

In other news, Our girl Coco was so kind as to share a super embarrassing celebrity encounter at a discount store’s- discount store?

Corinne explains why she and her folks went antiquing, not for antiques, but for discontinued murder weapons last used in the Dark Ages.

This show has it all: love & loss, joy and embarrassment at a Macy’s; but we hope you walk away understanding that sometimes sliding into one’s DM's works to perfection.

      Disclaimer: Usually it get’s you:

      blocked, mocked, screen-shotted and embarrassed.

But we’re focusing on the positive in this episode. Enjoy!

    • EP. 39 "Bridgette is on line 1 regarding the proposal..."

In this episode, we take a departure from our normal journey along the road of “broken people”. That was actually going to be the name of this podcast: "Semi-normal people making fun of others."

Fortunately, My Safe Word Is More was just too good to pass up; the same can be said for this episode. It is absolutely too good to pass up. Our SWIMmers will notice that we take a step back from our beloved: vouch dating as well as sidestep Denver Singles- until next week.

Why? Well that is a question only one of us can answer.

Our girl Corinne has a story that demands all of the show’s time & focus- and that’s just what we gave it.

      ENJOY.

***Please write in with your: questions, comments, and quite frankly anything that annoys you and we will respond on the show.
