What up swimmers! I had the privilege of listening to this episode 3x and I must say this is an insanely funny one. Corinne and I are so stationed on our different places on the spectrum when recording that we honestly don’t know how it sounds or if it’s remotely funny, so whatever the result - it’s news to us.
A few lessons we learn in this podcast:
We learn that Cookie’s father purchased a “boyfriend” pillow for his daughter and then subsequently tried to deny its ethnic heritage. We also learn that creepy, white vans are not allowed within 500 feet of playgrounds, but are more than welcome outside of Nuggets games. Finally, we learn that while flashlights can shine a light in the dark; fleshlights can be used to illuminate OCD and other unhealthy sexual fixations.
Laughing & learning - together!
Enjoy.

I would like to proudly and formally announce our guest Eliza Orlins (@survivoreliza) has received an MSWIM gold card! The recipient of this card is granted the right to come back to the pod anytime as a guest. She was fantastic. We all fell in love with her as Coco‘s Amazing Race partner, full-time attorney, and 2X Survivor contestant.
Oh you want more? How about she gave us some real legal perspective on the various legalities of Are We Dating The Same Guy? Eliza also wrote a YELP! review for the ages. I’m like a proud parent over here.
You might want to have three fingers of scotch. This one’s for you.
Enjoy.

We’re talking about all kinds of crazy in this episode. Crazy ranges from: asking to enter a house in a poor neighborhood abroad, to a person that pays their charge card inside the actual bank. There are levels to crazy, it’s never a one-straight-jacket-fits-all affair.
Personally, I think joining a singles group for thousands of dollars with no guarantee of matching with a single, or even a guarantee of entry upon arriving at said singles event is crazy. Coco wholeheartedly disagrees.
We stay on theme by analyzing a voicemail from a swimmer who self-admittedly went a little crazy on their ex and wants to know what can be done to tuck that crazy memory deep in their ex’s hippocampus long enough to grant our swimmer reentry into their life.
This episode is perfect for first year medical students exploring the world of psychiatric medicine or unemployed crazy people rewatching USA networks: “PSYCH” on repeat, while using Taco Bell hot sauce packets to write their enemies list on the wall.
It’s an episode for ALL, especially those with schadenfreude. If you don’t know what that is, tune in to find out.
Enjoy.

Why would you go through police academy training with no intention of becoming a police officer? Why would you go to a gun show knowing nothing about guns? Why would you workout to the point of total failure?
An acceptable answer is: you're in training to become a Navy seal. Another slightly less acceptable answer is that you are Cookie Kaplan simply killing time trying to fill the void previously occupied by dating apps.
Good news, we are all about helping her fill some of this time with a much anticipated Al Yelp review as well as a spirit-forward voicemail from two loyal swimmers.
We also get a glimpse of a pair of brass knuckles complete with a knife attached to the end--that may or may not be in possession of one of your hosts. If you’ve never seen a pair, it looks like the new flag of a country that has just stormed the Prime Minister‘s house and seized control of the government.
Buckle up swimmers, this episode probably contains at least two on-camera confessions of illegal activities.
Enjoy.

Whether it’s Michael Jordan taking his final shot in the NBA finals, or a teacher receiving a standing ovation for 50 years of dedicated service in the field of education, there is a time where we will all take our final bow.
For our girl Corinne, this is her time.
No, she’s not leaving education.
No, she hasn’t won an NBA title.
She’s walking away from dating apps forever(ish). Take that: Bumble, J-Date, Black people meet, Farmers Only, Tinder—enough with your Insane Clown Posse of potential suitors.
Coco explains why it has come to an end, not just with her words, but by reading responses from the gaggle of crazies that believe they would hit it off with Corinne. It was a group effort, whether they be delusional or un-showered, she lets their words explain why our beloved Corinne has left the world of online dating—opting to meet somebody organically.
So, everybody raise your glasses to free range love.
Enjoy.

In this episode, we learn that a simple task, like adding a few more notches to a leather belt, can lead to: a premature retirement, enrolling in a crafts workshop, and possibly a missed love connection with that workshop instructor.
We also learn how to flirt your way into the arms of an old flame. If giving your ex a grade-2 concussion doesn’t tell them you want to get back together, I don’t know what will. It’s called “flirting”. Look it up as soon as your vision clears a bit.
Some people say: “the best defense is a good offense.” While others say: “the most effective party invite is to disinvite one person.”
No that does not make sense, but it does make sense to ONE person. Care to take a guess?
This may be confusing to read, but once you listen, it will make sense!
*Don’t hold me to that last sentence!*
Enjoy.

At some point in your life you may hear someone use the phrase: “that’s like finding a devout Christian at a pagan ceremony!” intending to convey a situation that is by all accounts—implausible.
When someone says that to you, you now know two things:
One, that person is over the age of 85.
Secondly, you will never speak to them again. Unless you are Corinne Kaplan. If you are Coco, this implausible scenario may be very, very plausible.
We also examine two intriguing emails—one about family dynamics and the other touching on personal “tragedy”. Come for “the tea”, stay for the foolishness (and the subject of an upcoming YELP! review—hint, hint).

Some of us have to learn the hard way that what your doctor’s office tells you to do pre & post operation are called instructions - not, suggestions.
What if I told you someone you know quite well disregarded all of those instructions? Would you be surprised if I then told you - that did not work out well?
We’ll leave that there and head to Aspen, CO where you’ll be happy to learn that blacks and whites have learned to live together in perfect harmony. Yes, black AMEX cards and pure, white snow pair perfectly like: a wrinkled, old, rich man and the trophy wife that pretends to love him.
Love is in the air as well as any plane that doesn't have Jeff Bezos on it.
While you may or may not be circling Aspen, throw on this podcast and...

What pairs nicely with 10 flights of whiskey at a high-end distillery? If you answered: intervention, you are correct my friend.
In this episode, we watch how Corinne‘s father seamlessly repurposes a traditional family outing into an ill-timed intervention. It’s like he was worried we wouldn’t have enough content. Thank you, Dr. Kaplan!
We also get to some medically troubling Geaux Nakeds, our beloved and forever, giving Facebook group.
While listening to this episode never lose sight of fact that all of this every single word is real. Happy holidays Swimmers.
Enjoy.
