Narcissists go after people they feel they can manipulate and fool, usually empathetic and codependent individuals. If you're a person who is overly forgiving and always willing to forgive, regardless of how many times you've been forgiving the same issues, you're more than likely the one who's going to get the ring from the narcissist. The person who doesn't get the ring is actually the luck one!
