While I was at adult nationals, I decided to order custom figure skates from Harlicks, since I couldn't get the stock boots to work for me after three tries (lesson learned).  Phil, the owner of Harlicks spent upwards of 2 hours with me doing measurements, counseling, etc.  It was awesome!  

Across the hall was a vendor called Foot Foundation.  It looked like orthotics to me so I wasn't all too interested because Phil took a foot impression and was going to order new orthotics for my custom skates.  My coach, Mimi, was over that their booth and said to me "you have to try this!".  Honestly I was super-skeptical that anything they were making was going to be better than my custom orthotics, but I agreed to do their balance test.  

In about 10 minutes, Eric from Foot Foundation, and my coach, turned my skepticism around 180 degrees.  I now know that my balance is WORSE with my orthotics than without them and why his foot foundations are going to make a world of difference to my skating (can we say Gold Medal next year??)
