1. Be prepared to deal with dangerous heat and humidity today. All southeastern Wisconsin is now under a Heat Advisory. That advisory lasts until 8pm. Between the heat and humidity, it could feel like it's 105 today and some areas could feel even warmer. We're not the only ones dealing with the dangerous weather. About 95 million Americans are facing dangerous heat today from Minneapolis to New Orleans and east into Ohio.

2. Happening right now in Boise, Idaho, sentencing for the man convicted of killing four University of Idaho students. Bryan Kohberger will receive four consecutive life sentences from a judge in Boise. Kohberger pleaded guilty to the murders on July 2nd. For agreeing to plead guilty, the judge in Boise agreed to remove the death penalty from the table and waived a trial. The loved ones of the victims were not happy, but they will have an opportunity to deliver impact statements, before sentencing. The sentencing is expected to last the entire day.

3. Uber is rolling out a new feature for riders and drivers that the company says will make its rideshare experience safer. Women will have the option to choose female drivers, and female drivers will have the option to pick female passengers. For riders, they can request a female driver, on demand, but it's only about one in five Uber drivers nationwide that are female. So, it's not guaranteed. Or, you might have to wait a longer time if you want that option. Another way to do this, riders can reserve ahead of time, that gives more probability that the female driver request can be honored. Or the third way is to set a preference for women drivers, which increases your chances of being matched with one, but doesn't guarantee it. The new feature will debut in San Francisco, L.A., and Detroit in a few weeks. If successful, Uber hopes to expand nationwide.

1. Deep Thought is now up for auction! You can now bid on the abandoned boat that became a local spectacle along Milwaukee's lakefront. The auction went LIVE at nine this morning at GOV-DEALS-DOT-COM. It runs through Tuesday, August 5th. An out-of-town couple ran out of gas and grounded the boat earlier this year. It was stuck for months ultimately leaving the county to figure out what to do with it. Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley today on the decision to put the boat up for auction. The County is hoping to get 20-thousand dollars for the boat. It's being sold "As-Is" with the graffiti and all. 23 people have already put in a bid. It's up to 775 dollars right now. The winning bidder is responsible for removing the boat from the tow lot where it sits now.

3. General Motors is out with its second quarter earnings and feeling the effects of the Trump administration’s tariff policies. GM reports more than a billion dollar decline in profits, compared to the second quarter of last year, marking a thirty-five percent slump. The automaker says tariff policies are hurting its business and in May indicated tariffs could account for between four and five billion dollars in losses for 2025.
