1. It's been more than three years since the first "Kia Challenge" video taught TikTok users how to steal South Korean cars using a USB connector. Three years later, Kias and Hyundais still top the roster of most-stolen vehicles across the country. The most stolen vehicle in Wisconsin is the Hyundai Elantra. Five-hundred-15 Elantras were stolen in our state last year. I wanted to break it down to the local level too, so I reached out to the Milwaukee Police Department. We've certainly had problems here in Milwaukee with stolen Kias and Hyundais, but the Milwaukee Police Department tells me Nissans are now the most stolen vehicle in our city. Hyundais are the second most stolen in Milwaukee right now. The numbers are close though; there have been 482 Nissans stolen in Milwaukee so far this year and 481 Hyundais stolen.

2. Severe Weather could impact your commute this afternoon or evening. The potential for severe weather has caused organizers to cancel The Milwaukee Night Market. Organizers say the market will be rescheduled for October 1st. The main threat is damaging winds, but there is also a slight chance of hail. No watches or warnings to communicate yet in our area, but The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for east-central Wisconsin from 1-7pm.

3. House lawmakers will re-consider legislation on cryptocurrency today. President Trump claims he was able to convince the Republican holdouts to vote yes, after 12 of them rejected the bills by surprise. These cryptocurrency bills are a top priority for President Trump. The negotiations come during what House Republicans are calling "crypto week."

That company was in damage-control mode for much of last week, after the X account for Grok began generating a series of posts that included anti-Semitic language (those posts have since been taken down). Mike also attended Samsung’s latest “Galaxy Unpacked” event last week, where the company showed off three new foldable smartphones. Foldables still only account for a tiny sliver over the overall smartphone market, so do the newest entries move the ball forward at all?

1. Summerfest reveals its attendance numbers for 2025. More than 602-thousand fans attended the World’s Largest Musical Festival along Milwaukee’s lakefront this year. That’s about an eight percent increase from last year or an additional 46-thousand people. Festival highlights from this year included sold-out shows with Hozier, The Killers, and Benson Boone. They also had capacity performances from The Avett Brothers, CAKE, Riley Green, and Chicago at the BMO Pavilion. Combining that with good weather for the most part, it's no surprise attendance numbers were up. Festival organizers also announced next year’s dates. Sticking with the three-weekend format, Summerfest will be June 18th-20th, June 25th-27th, and July 2nd-4th next year.

2. New information about those crucial moments at Camp Mystic when the devastating July Fourth storms first hit. 27 people at the camp, children and counselors, lost their lives in the flooding. Three Wisconsin based crews are in Texas aiding in recovery efforts, two swiftwater rescue teams and one Canine Human Remains Detection team featuring 3 dogs. Crews from 25 states have come to Texas to help with flood relief efforts. Complicating Matters: A flood watch is in effect until 1:00 this afternoon. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with isolated amounts up to 6 inches are possible. Meanwhile, officials have made plans to drain reservoirs in the search for more victims of flooding from Independence Day.

1. A meth surge so big the head of the Department of Drug Enforcement says "it frightens him." The DEA says meth is coming into the U.S. from Mexican drug cartels and it's being cleverly disguised. Acting DEA Administrator Robert Murphy explains another big problem. He says the agency is on pace to seize twice the amount of meth than it did last year. And last year was a record year for the DEA.

3. New details about the bear attack in Barron County over the weekend. We now know the woman who was attacked, is in “stable condition.” The DNR has also identified her as 69-year-old Karen Frye. A black bear attacked Frye outside her rural residence near the town of Comstock on Saturday. She was rushed to a local hospital then transferred to another hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota where she’s now recovering. One of Frye's neighbors talked to WCCO. The Wisconsin DNR says preliminary findings suggest the bear exhibited a sustained ‘series’ of aggressive behaviors towards Frye. The DNR's goal is human safety, so their priority right now is to find the bear that attacked and humanely euthanize it.

ABC News Correspondent Jim Ryan talks about how calls to poison control centers involving children poisoned with nicotine soared by more than 760% between 2020 and 2023, according to the medical journal Pediatrics. Authors of the study pointed to the rising popularity of flavored nicotine pouches like Zyn as the driving force behind accidental poisonings. Many ingestions resulted in little or no serious harm, but at least two children have died after swallowing liquid nicotine.
