1. Summerfest reveals its attendance numbers for 2025. More than 602-thousand fans attended the World’s Largest Musical Festival along Milwaukee’s lakefront this year. That’s about an eight percent increase from last year or an additional 46-thousand people. Festival highlights from this year included sold-out shows with Hozier, The Killers, and Benson Boone. They also had capacity performances from The Avett Brothers, CAKE, Riley Green, and Chicago at the BMO Pavilion. Combining that with good weather for the most part, it's no surprise attendance numbers were up. Festival organizers also announced next year’s dates. Sticking with the three-weekend format, Summerfest will be June 18th-20th, June 25th-27th, and July 2nd-4th next year.

2. Welch's is the latest major company to announce it is eliminating artificial food dyes. Welch's will only use colors from natural sources by early next year. Other companies saying bye to dye included Hershey, Kraft Heinz, General Mills, Nestlé, and PepsiCo. Most of these companies will be dye free by the end of 2027. Certain artificial food dyes, like Red 40 and Yellow 5, are banned or restricted in some European countries, including Norway and Iceland, which have banned Red 40 entirely.

3. There was a security incident at the White House today. It had Secret Service agents ushering members of the press inside. ABC's Katherine Faulders is at the White House. She says reporters and producers were kicked out of the North Lawn. You could see a secret service agent walk out quickly with a whistle and tell them the North Lawn was now closed and that they should go to the press briefing room. It was quick, but not chaotic. This is a developing story, but a source on the scene says it appears something was thrown over the fence of the White House and on to the North Lawn. Secret Service has now given the reporters the "all clear."

Wisconsin Senator Julian Bradley talks about how the final version of the budget includes the establishment of a state film office within the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. The budget provides funding for a position in this new office up to $5 million per year in film production and investment tax credits that can be used starting in 2026. What is the goal? How will the tax credits be allocated? What kinds of projects qualify for the tax credits?

1. A second person has now died after a deadly shooting in downtown Milwaukee over the weekend. Milwaukee Police just announced a 30-year-old has died after the shooting early Saturday morning. It happened just after midnight, near Water and Michigan. The first victim, 52-year-old Antwan Hogans, also known as "Tweezy" died there at the scene. He was a popular local club promoter and owner of a hookah lounge. Three other people were also shot. Police arrested a 24-year-old man in connection to the shooting, but they say they're still looking for other suspects.

2. Additional assistance from Wisconsin in Texas. A 16-member swiftwater team is at work today assisting with searching for those still missing following devastating flooding in the Texas Hill Country. 161 people from the area remain missing and efforts to find them are ongoing according to local officials. The death toll is 129. Recovery efforts were halted on Sunday due to more flooding in the area. A flash flood warning was issued for parts of Kerr County on Sunday morning. A flood watch expired at 9:00 this morning. An 8-member recovery crew was deployed last week, complete with 3 canine assisting in efforts on the ground.

1. A warning to keep nicotine pouches out of children's reach. There's been a dramatic spike in the number of kids accidentally ingesting nicotine. Nicotine pouches can be the most harmful. The level of nicotine in pouches can vary from three to 12 milligrams per pouch. At the lowest level, it can release more nicotine than a cigarette, and even that small amount can be dangerous to children.

2. Recession fears are easing. A recent Wall Street Journal survey, economists now see a 33 percent chance of the US falling into recession within the next 12 months. That’s down sharply from 45 percent in April. Economists are trimming recession risks and projecting stronger job growth and cooler inflation, even as President Donald Trump’s aggressive tariff threats loom.

3. The biggest piece of Mars ever found on Earth goes up for sale at auction this week! The 54-pound space rock is expected to go for two to four million dollars. It was found in the Sahara Desert in November 2023. Vice Chairman for Science and Natural History at Sotheby's in New York says the big space rock is more than twice the size of any other known Mars meteorite found on Earth.

On July 4th, the Guadalupe River overflowed its banks, inundating Camp Mystic and taking the lives of more than two dozen campers and counselors. Meanwhile, more than 100,000 individuals, organizations and corporations have collectively donated over $30 million to relief efforts in the devastated Texas Hill Country.
