ABC News Technology Reporter Mike Dobuski talks about how the Republican spending package is inching closer to President Trump’s July 4th deadline, and many of the provisions that could be signed into law within the next few days have to do with the world of technology. The biggest is a so called “AI moratorium,” which would effectively ban states from passing legislation to regulate artificial intelligence for a set period. Meanwhile, the electric vehicle tax credit, which advocates say is responsible for a significant amount of EV adoption, could be on the chopping block, as well. Plus, two weeks after the Trump Organization announced Trump Mobile, a mobile service provider complete with its own smartphone, a lot of the details around the mysterious device have changed.

1. A newly released criminal complaint shows 22-year-old Tremaine Jones is now charged with first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree recklessly endangering safety. The officers responded around 9 p.m. to a report of a suspect with a weapon. When they arrived and stepped out of their squad, they were unexpectedly shot in an alley. Corder dropped to the ground, and McCray, who had been shot in the foot, leg and back, said he ran to grab Corder's firearm and protect him, according to a criminal complaint. McCray was released from the hospital on Saturday, while Corder died of his wounds on Sunday.

2. Beginning today, colleges and universities will be permitted to directly pay athletes for using their name, image, and likeness. Schools will essentially have a salary cap of $22.5 million dollars to spend on athletes however they choose. That's Milwaukee Panthers Men's Head Basketball Coach, Bart Lundy on the playing field not being level. Increasingly, you will see student athletes from smaller division-one schools, like Milwaukee, transfer to cash in. Here's the ripple effect: athletic scholarships for high school athletes, especially in non-revenue generating sports, are shrinking. College programs are recruiting at the university level more than ever.

ABC News Correspondent Jim Ryan talks about how the suspect in the ambush-style murders of two firefighters and the wounding of a third in North Idaho has been identified as a 20-year-old who’d recently moved to the area from Arizona. Investigators believe that Wess Roley intentionally set a fire on Canfield Mountain in the Idaho Panhandle and then started shooting at responding firefighters. Roley’s body was later found in the woods near a rifle. Forensic specialists are sifting through the suspect’s past as they try to come up with a motive for the bloodshed.

1. Preparing to say goodbye. In the days ahead, Milwaukee police officers will say their final goodbyes to Officer Kendall Corder. The 32-year-old died Sunday after being shot last week while on duty. The attack described as an “ambush.” Officer Corder’s injuries just too much. The Vice President of the Milwaukee Police Association joined us last hour on Wisconsin's Midday News. He tells us the Police Chaplain is meeting with Officer Corder's family to help with funeral plans.

2. Jurors in Sean Diddy Combs’ federal criminal trial are deliberating for a second day after 5 hours of deliberation on Monday. About an hour into Monday's deliberations, the jury sent a note saying they were concerned that one of the jurors could not follow the judge’s instructions. There was a brief meeting with the jurors in the courtroom today with further instructions. Combs is charged with five counts: one count of racketeering conspiracy and two counts each of sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution

3. President Trump just made a visit to "Alligator Alcatraz." The site is an old airstrip in the Everglades that will be used as a migrant detention facility. Florida Governor Ron Desantis claims it will be up and running this month. The facility is set to have five-thousand beds for migrants. President Trump says the wildlife surrounding the facility will stop people from escaping. Alligator Alcatraz is already the subject of controversy. Protesters are demonstrating against using the site. They say it's going to have a negative impact on the environment. And immigration advocates warn the conditions will be too harsh for migrants.

MLB.com Brewers Beat Writer Adam McCalvy talks about the story behind Bobby Bonilla Day and how Jacob Misiorowski is dealing with his fast rise to fame. 1. Dame Time is done in Milwaukee. The Milwaukee Bucks are waiving future hall-of-fame point guard Damian Lillard and stretching out the remaining $113 million dollars on his contract over the next 5 years, according to ESPN. Lillard played two seasons with the Bucks, but a torn Achilles in the post-season leaves his availability for the upcoming season in doubt and at a price of $49 million dollars. EPSN is also reporting that the Bucks will sign 29-year-old veteran Center Myles Turner to a 4-year $107 million dollar deal, replacing Brook Lopez.

2. A plea deal in Idaho for the man accused of killing four University of Idaho students in 2022.30-year-old Bryan Kohberger agrees to plead guilty in all four murders. Under the plea agreement, Kohberger will avoid the death penalty and instead would be sentenced to four consecutive life sentences with no chance of parole. Family members of some of the victims are not happy about the plea deal. Appearing on News Nation, Steven Golcalves, the father of murder victim Kaylee Goncalves, said they weren't even called about the plea deal and said they received an email telling them it was done.
