1. Images so tough to see, the victim's mother left the courtroom. That's one of the big moments today from the Maxwell Anderson trial in Milwaukee. Anderson is the 34-year-old accused of killing and dismembering 19-year-old Sade Robinson after a first date in April 2024. Detective Mason Kohlhaab with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office took the stand today. He investigated Anderson's cell phone, looking for evidence connected to Robinson's disappearance. The jury saw photos he found on Anderson's phone.

2. Air quality alerts are going off as parts of the U.S. experience very unhealthy levels from those raging Canadian wildfires. Plumes of smoke are blanketing the Midwest, Northeast and Great Lakes regions. Storm Team 4 Meteorologist Tyler Moore says a high-pressure system keeps smoke lower to the ground. The AQI is divided into six categories. Each category corresponds to a different level of health concern. Each category also has a specific color. In short, anything under 50 is ideal, 51-100 is just fine for most people, 101-150 is unhealthy for sensitive groups. North of 150 is unhealthy, which means some members of the general public may experience health effects; members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects. As for the fires, more than 100 are considered "out of control" because they are difficult for crews to access. Tens of thousands of residents have been evacuated across multiple provinces, including Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The provinces most affected include British Columbia and Alberta, according to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre.

3. A big decision today from the U.S. Supreme Court, involving Wisconsin. The highest court decided a Catholic charity does not have to pay Wisconsin unemployment taxes. The unanimous ruling comes in a case filed by the Catholic Charities Bureau. The group said the state violated the First Amendment’s religious freedom guarantee when it required the organization to pay the tax while exempting other faith groups. Wisconsin argued the organization has paid the tax for more than 50 years and doesn’t qualify for an exemption because its day-to-day work doesn’t involve religious teachings So the big ruling today: The Supreme Court sides with Catholic Charities. This is just one of a set of religious-rights cases the justices are considering this term.

1. Chilling testimony today in the Maxwell Anderson trial in Milwaukee. We heard from one of Anderson's ex-girlfriends. The 34-year-old is accused of killing and dismembering 19-year-old Sade Robinson after a first date in April 2024. The state's first witness today was Chloe Wright. She dated Anderson for more than a year. Wright testified about a "secret beach" Anderson knew of where they could hang out and they did, more than a handful of times. She didn't know the name of it then, but she does now. Warnimont Park in Cudahy is where Robinson's first remains showed up. The jury is on a lunch break now. They're due back in court at 1:45.

2. President Trump reviving and expanding one of his most controversial policies targeting a dozen countries with a full travel ban. It means no visitors from those countries, no temporary trips, no permanent moves, nothing. Here's the list of counties: Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. Additionally, nationals from seven other countries face partial travel restrictions, primarily affecting temporary entry for business, tourism, or study: Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela. The decision is expected to face stiff legal challenges.

3. New clues in the search for a Pewaukee native accused of killing his three young daughters in Washington state. 32-year-old Travis Decker is still on the run. The three sisters were five, eight, and nine. Their bodies were found Monday, near an abandoned campsite in Washington state.
