1. Jury selection is underway for the man accused of killing and dismembering 19-year-old Sade Robinson of Milwaukee. The young woman was killed in April 2024. The horrifying details of her murder captured our community’s attention and made hearts sink for the family. Wisconsin does not have the death penalty, but that's what Scarbro told me she would want if it did. Anderson is accused of killing Robinson after their first date. Robinson's family is seated in the first row of the courtroom today. There's also a section reserved for Anderson's family. 12 jurors need to be selected for the trial. The case is expected to last for two weeks.

2. The on-again, off-again World of Trump tariffs has another chapter. Threats of a sizeable tariff on European Goods are on pause for now. The delay was announced after a call between Trump and Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission. **In 2024 the European Union was the United States largest trade partner with over $975 dollars' worth of goods exchanged.

3. Covid-19 vaccine recommendations are changing. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says he’s directed the CDC to remove the vaccine from the recommended immunization schedule for healthy children and healthy pregnant women. Last week, the FDA announced, it’s overhauling how it approves vaccines which may limit future shots to those who are older, and at a higher risk of serious infection.

ABC News Correspondent Jim Ryan talks about how even as recovery continues from last year’s devastating Atlantic hurricanes, federal forecasters are anticipating another active storm season this year. The National Weather Service yesterday issued its 2025 outlook, predicting up to 19 tropical storms, with 6 to 10 growing into hurricanes. Thanks to improved technology and modeling, the forecast last year was nearly 100% accurate.

1. A new tariff move from the Trump administration. This one targets the tech giant Apple. In a post on his Truth Social platform, President Trump said he informed Apple CEO Tim Cook a long time ago that he expects iPhones sold in the U.S. to be manufactured domestically. Apple's stock is tanking today, on the heels of this news.

2. Harvard University has filed a federal lawsuit challenging the Trump administration's decision to not allow the school to admit any foreign students. The lawsuit is part of a larger conflict between the Trump administration and the University, which has included funding cuts, investigations, and demands for changes to the university's governance and policies. Approximately 27% of Harvard's student body are international students. The Trump administration is considering doing to other universities what it's done to Harvard.

1. “The Sickest Generation in American History”. That's what a new report released from the White House calls our nation's kids. The results come from the "Make America Healthy Again" commission. The report focuses on chronic conditions that begin in childhood. The report blames many chronic illnesses on ultra-processed foods, chemicals in the environment, sedentary behavior, and an over-reliance on digital devices.

2. A former member of the Brewers is suing the Cincinnati Reds. Darren Ruf appeared in 11 games for the Brewers in 2023. Used primarily as a designated hitter, Ruf earned a start at first base on June 2nd of that season. In the third inning of that game, Ruf was chasing a foul pop when his knee hit the end of the tarp roller. According to the complaint, Ruf suffered “permanent and substantial deformities to his knee.” Ruf went on the 60-day injured list and never played in the major leagues again. Ruf’s complaint says the end of the tarp roller was made of sharp metal and had no protective cushioning or cap. He is seeking punitive and compensatory damages. Ruf was 36 years old at the time.
