Hola Bienvenidos 

Hello welcome to “My Spanish Challenge”, this is the first episode of our show, let me introduce myself a little bit. 

(In Spanish)

Me llamo Lily Wong. Puedes llamarme Lily. Soy de Taiwan, pero ahora vivo en Barcelona. Amo esta ciudad. Tengo 35 (treinta y cinco) años. estoy divorciada y no tengo hijos. Soy trabajadora y muy independiente. Enseño ingles y comparto mis experiencias de viaje en línea. Hablo mandarín, inglés, y un poco de japonés. Estoy aprendiendo español.

What I just said is:

My name is Lily Wong. You can just call me Lily. I’m originally from Taiwan, but now I live in Barcelona. I’m 35 years old. I’m divorced and don’t have children. I’m hardworking and very independent. I teach English and share my travel experiences online. I speak Mandarin, English, and a little bit Japanese. I’m learning Spanish.

So that was my bilingual introduction. 

After my divorce, I started to wander around the world and make podcasts. In 2018, I moved to Spain and started my new life here. My first language is Mandarin, and I speak English fluently. I have never learned Spanish before. When I first arrived in Barcelona, “hola” was the only Spanish word I said... 

Before living in Barcelona, I have been teaching English for some years, so I know how acquiring a new language can open up someone’s world. For me, I’m excited but also a bit scared, but I’m determined to master this language to fulfill my other personal dreams. For example, starting a business here, buying a property, falling in love with a gorgeous Spanish man, and some other small things like getting my hair done or acquire a driver’s licence.  

So this podcast is committed to take you on this adventure with me! 

I’m planning to update this podcast every week to update my own Spanish Challenge journey, I hope this will motivate you to do anything you’ve been wanting to do and I personally believe starting learning a new language will help you look at the world and your life with a refreshing perspective.
