Chronic inflammation, which is a long-term low activation of the immune system, is linked to most chronic diseases. Dr. Andrea emphasizes the need to focus on reducing inflammation rather than dieting to lose weight, as diets can be restrictive and mess up the metabolism. She recommends finding the foods that you love that also love you back, and eliminating common pro-inflammatory foods for a short period of time to reduce inflammation. Dr. Andrea also highlights the importance of reducing exposure to chemicals and preservatives in our environment and food.
