The first season of Dune: Prophecy is about to begin on HBO Max, and Elysia is joined by Luke and David to set the stage – first with an exclusive three-way conversation about the world-building of this prequel set 10,000 years before the original book and films, and then (00:24:50) with recap and analysis of a novella set not long before the show, featuring some of the same characters – "Imperial Court" from Sands of Dune (2022).

How ugly could this Atreides-Harkonnen blood feud get? What was Javicco Corrino (Mark Strong's character) like in his younger years? What dangers await in the jungles of Rossak, where the school of the Sisterhood can be found? Answers, or at least teases, await.

Then, continue the conversation with David & Elysia's Dune: Prophecy preview pod on the Lorehounds feed.

This year's Wool-Shift-Dust Halloween special is keeping with the season of the witch, flashing back to Elysia and her friend Katherine's high-school days with the girls-will-be-girls horror classic The Craft (1996) – plus, for the full context, the 2020 sequel / reboot The Craft: Legacy. (We watched that film so you don't have to...but here are some reasons you might want to anyway.)

We start with a spoiler-free discussion the production and impact of these movies, plus our overall feelings, before plunging into spoilers for first the original film (00:31:09) and then the new one (01:14:44).

As Hugh Howey promised, this year's San Diego Comic Con featured a juicy panel on Silo season 2, full of reveals – including the addition of Steve Zahn in a key role, and even more importantly...it's already returning to our screens on November 15th! Elysia and Luke talk through it all.

(This episode includes spoilers for the entire first season of Silo, plus the first half of the book Wool. Plus some of the information revealed at Comic Con about the first episode of the new season. Not further future plot twists are spoiled.)
