In this spoiler-free intro episode to the second season of Wool-Shift-Dust, Luke and Elysia launch their discussion of their next scifi adaptation analysis project, keeping your ears and brains busy between Silo seasons. We lay out why Dune is such a big frickin' deal, the timeline of adaptations, what we'll be covering, why you should get excited for the lesser-known takes, and basically all the background you need to get a better understanding of the story of Dune.
Later this season we'll be discussing: the novel Dune, Jodorowsky's Dune, Dune 1984 & video games, Dune 2000 (Syfy), Villeneuve's: Dune pt. 1, a preview of Dune pt. 2, analysis of Dune pt. 2, the novel Dune Messiah, and the Children of Dune Syfy adaptation.

Expect more sounds, more silliness, but takes as deep as ever in our final first season wrap-up party.

Now that the entire season 1 of Silo on Apple TV+ is up for discussion, author of the books and one of the exec producers of the series Hugh Howey lets me pick his brain. We talk about his inspirations, his favorite bits from the series, what it was like on set, and which one of my theories from the podcast is now officially canon. Beacon 23 and Sand fans won't want to miss our (spoiler-free) talk about those adaptations, too.
Plus, introducing the Silo series book club! Where to find it and what to expect.

In between episodes and seasons of Silo, join us for an in-depth dive into Frank Herbert's novel Dune and all of the adaptations of that story.
Using the most famous science-fiction book ever written as our base, we're looking at the choices made in different times by different creators: How does one adapt a story that's been deemed unadaptable – what worked, and what didn't? And how does each attempt leave a deeper understanding of this rich galaxy of politics, philosophy, and lore?
