1.Region–A part of a country or the world having definable characteristics but notalways fixed boundaries. Katiediscusses the distinct regions of Central Taiwan(Yuanlin, Changhua) and Northern Taiwan (Taipei), as well as the cultural andlifestyle differences between them.

2.Accent–A distinctive mode of pronunciation of a language, especially oneassociated with a particular nation, locality, or social class. Katie mentioned thatafter moving from Changhua to Taipei, she found her Chinese accent hadchanged, and when she spoke witha Changhua accent, she would be considered"cute" or "country"

3.Countryside–The land and scenery of a rural area. Katie compared life in the city(Taipei) with life in the countryside (Yuanlin, Changhua), pointing out that thecountryside offers more opportunities to be close to nature, such as hearing frogschirping
