  • Evaluate & Appraise for Yourself

Tonesha delves into the intricate process of evaluating and appraising our lives. Through a captivating story of discovering a potentially valuable item concealed behind a dresser, Tonesha unravels the emotional weight often associated with material possessions stemming from toxic relationships. She emphasizes the significance of addressing our emotional issues and relinquishing negative memories, even if it means relinquishing financial gain. Tonesha also explores moving as an opportunity to upgrade our living situations, be it transitioning from apartments to rental homes or moving to larger spaces. The act of packing and decluttering can bring forth forgotten and unnecessary belongings, prompting us to question the necessity of holding onto multiple items we no longer require. By relocating, we can evaluate and release both physical and metaphorical baggage, thus creating room for genuine happiness and fulfillment.

Tonesha underscores the importance of reassessing and assigning our values to the various aspects of our lives. She challenges the notion that external assessments should dictate the worth of something to us, urging listeners to prioritize what truly resonates with their core values. Drawing upon examples of breakups and other types of relationships, Tonesha demonstrates how this evaluation process can be applied universally. She cautions against hastily accepting the validity of emotions and sensations, advocating for careful consideration and understanding. Tonesha encourages listeners to take the time to process and evaluate their feelings, reflecting on past traumatic experiences and negative influences that may be shaping their emotional responses. Tonesha shares her experiences and acknowledges the result of upbringing and external sources on our beliefs and judgments. She promotes authenticity and the need to shed masks and unnecessary burdens, urging us to let go of the unresolved aspects of our past that we have been reluctant to confront.

  • The Severing

Today's episode discusses the topic of severing in relationships. While severing is often avoided or denied when a relationship ends, it is a natural part of the process. Tonesha emphasizes the importance of acknowledging and embracing our feelings during this period. We may feel a sense of loss or emptiness as we adjust to the absence of someone or something in our lives. It is crucial not to underestimate the impact that a severed relationship can have on us, even if it was mutually agreed upon. By allowing ourselves to feel these emotions and being honest with ourselves, we can move forward and grow personally.

Tonesha also highlights the disruption of habits and routines that occurs when a relationship ends. It is normal to feel unsettled when familiar patterns are no longer present. Rather than pretending that everything is fine, it is vital to acknowledge these changes and the emotions they elicit. By going through the process of severing and facing our feelings head-on, we enable personal development and transformation.

In conclusion, severing is a natural part of life, and it is crucial to embrace the emotions associated with it. By acknowledging our feelings and reflecting on the role the relationship played in our growth, we can evolve and become better versions of ourselves. Stay tuned for more episodes focused on healing and personal growth. Cheers to your transformation!

  • Abandonment Issues

As you know, we’ve been working hard on maintaining our boundaries and practicing forgiveness. Well, today, Tonesha is diving into a real reason behind some of these issues that might come up. You may resonate with some of the reasonings behind her feelings today.  Recently, Tonesha stepped up to take care of her absent father, who had to undergo surgery and needed 24-hour care. This experience pushed up against those boundaries and made her realize that forgiveness does not mean forgetting.

Each of our childhoods is different, and while this type of situation may not speak to you, many Gen-X women have found that they can relate in some fashion.  Whether it’s through divorced parents, missing parents, or perhaps the additional burdens placed on them to take care of siblings or cousins, we each have a story.  Behind those stories lies deep routed disappointments that have brought about the necessity of forgiveness.

  • Evaluate the Grief, Part 1

In this 2-part series, Tonesha dives right in to talk about the importance of examining our grief and the value we can gain from it. She questions the current culture of canceling anyone who doesn't align with our beliefs. Stop focusing on the negative, strive to find the truth.  Aim to be a better person.

There’s been a trend lately of a self-destructive mindset, women claiming to be independent yet living behind the façade of lies, bitterness, pain, and low self-worth.  By dealing with our pain and looking at the grief head-on, we can start to see where it’s coming from and start to fix and heal it.

The episode is a call to action for listeners to be responsible adults, deal with the bullshit of adulting, and examine their grief to become better versions of themselves.
