People in a situationship are more than friends but less than committed romantic partners.「情況」加「感情」結合的字，意思就是說兩個人處在感情的狀態裡，除了性關係，做了很多情侶會做的事，但彼此又沒有確定關係。這種模糊的感情狀態就稱為 situationship。
