It's not uncommon for parents to catch their kids in a lie - it’s actually a normal part of their development - and certainly not an indictment on our parenting.  Phew! Yet while that doesn’t mean that we should ignore it, what it does mean is that we can acknowledge that it’s normal, consider why our kids might feel the need to lie, and teach them why honesty is important.
