~ Praying in the cold water on the coldest day ~

1月20日は、1年で最も寒い日と言われる「大寒」という日でした。

この日は、各地で「大寒みそぎ」というイベントが行われます。

朝ベッドから出るのすら勇気がいる私にとっては、この寒さの中、水の中に入ることは尊敬でしかありません。

皆さんは試してみたいと思いましたか？

いちがつ はつかは、いちねんで もっとも さむいひと いわれる「だいかん」という ひでした。

このひは、かくちで「だいかん みそぎ」という いべんとが おこなわれます。

あさ べっどから でるのすら ゆうきがいる わたしに とっては、

この さむさの なか、みずの なかに はいることは そんけいでしか ありません。

みなさんは ためしてみたいと おもいましたか？

~ Retro cafe ~

レトロな喫茶店が、外国人の方に人気があるというニュースを見ました。

ある喫茶店では、ナポリタン、クリームソーダ、モーニングを目当てに行列ができるそうです。

カラフルで見ているだけでも楽しい食べ物と、昔の映画の中にいるような店内が、人気の秘密だそうです。

れとろな きっさてんが、がいこくじんの かたに にんきがある という にゅーすをみました。

ある きっさてんでは、なぽりたん、くりーむそーだ、もーにんぐを めあてに ぎょうれつが できるそうです。

からふるで みているだけでも たのしい たべものと、むかしの えいがの なかに いるような てんないが、にんきの ひみつだそうです。

I saw a news that retro coffee shops are popular among foreigners.

I heard that people are lining up for Napolitan, cream soda, and morning at a certain cafe.

The colorful foods that are fun to look at and the interior that looks like something out of an old movie, they are said to be the secret about the shop’s popularity.

🐶: I don’t wanna walk!

皆さんは、動物のどんな姿が好きですか？

私は犬が好きなのですが、ワンちゃんが散歩をストライキしている姿がとても好きです。

「歩くの面倒くさい😗」と言っているみたいだからです。

飼い主さんは大変だと思いますが、可愛くて思わず写真を撮りたくなります。

みなさんは、どうぶつの どんな すがたが すきですか？

わたしは いぬが すきなのですが、わんちゃんが さんぽを すとらいきしている すがたが とてもすきです。

「あるくの めんどうくさい」といっているみたいだからです。

かいぬしさんは たいへんだと おもいますが、かわいくて おもわず しゃしんを とりたくなります。

What do you like to see in animals?

I like dogs and I really like to see them refusing to move while walking.

It's like they’re saying, “I'm tired of walking!”

Although I know it's hard for the owner, it's cute and makes me want to take a picture of them.

~ What do you mean by “33いってきます”? ~

「隠語」という言葉を聞いたことがありますか？知っている人だけが理解できる特別な言葉です。

例えば、デパートで働いている人たちがトイレに行くとき、「33行ってきます。」と言ったりします。お客様の前で「トイレ」という言葉を使わないためです。

皆さんの国に、こういう文化はありますか？

「いんご」という ことばを きいたことが ありますか？しっているひとだけが りかいできる とくべつな ことばです。

たとえば、でぱーとで はたらいている ひとたちが といれに いくとき、「さんさん いってきます。」といったりします。おきゃくさまの まえで「といれ」という ことばを つかわないためです。

みなさんの くにに、こういう ぶんかはありますか？

Have you ever heard the term “Ingo (secret language)?”

It is a special language that only people who know the meaning of understand.

For example, when people working in a department store go to the restroom at work, they sometimes say“I'm going to 33”.

This is to avoid using the word “restroom” in front of customers.

~ Funny writer’s names ~

日本の昔の作家で、名前の由来が面白い人が何人かいます。

作家の江戸川乱歩は、アメリカのエドガー・アラン・ポーの名前をもじったそうです。

二葉亭四迷という作家の名前は、「くたばってしまえ」という言葉から来ているそうです。

くたばってしまえ、はあまり綺麗な言葉ではないので、

意味はご自身でググってみてください😌

にほんの むかしの さっかで、なまえの ゆらいが おもしろい ひとが なんにんかいます。

さっかの えどがわ らんぽは、あめりかの えどがー・あらん・ぽーの なまえを もじったそうです。

ふたばてい しめい という さっかの なまえは、「くたばってしまえ」という ことばから きているそうです。

くたばってしまえ、は あまり きれいな ことばではないので、

いみは ごじしんで ぐぐってみてください。

日本の会社が発表している、パワーがある世界の都市ランキングで、東京が3位、大阪が35位だったそうです。

経済、ホテルや観光地の魅力度、安全性など色々な基準が元になっています。

1位、2位、4位、5位は、どの都市だと思いますか？

~ The fastest man is the luckiest? ~

兵庫県の神社で毎年行われる「福男選び」というイベントを知っていますか？

午前6時に神社の門が開くと同時に、一斉にたくさんの男性が走り出します。

一番初めに神社の建物まで着いた人が「福男」になれます。

みんな全速力で走るので、迫力があってとても面白いイベントです。

ひょうごけんの じんじゃで まいとし おこなわれる「ふくおとこ えらび」という いべんとを しっていますか？

ごぜん ろくじに じんじゃの もんが ひらくと どうじに、いっせいに たくさんの だんせいがはしりだします。

The first man to reach the shrine building becomes the “Fukuotoko”.

In Nishinomiya jinja shrine in Hyogo, there is an event called “Fukuotoko erabi (Lucky man race)” every year.

They choose 100 men who want to run there on January 10th by lottery.

At 6am, at the same time as the gate is open, 100 men start to run.

The man who arrives at the main building in the shrine is the “Fukuotoko”, which means like the lucky man for the year.

~Coming of Age day~

今日は、成人の日という祝日です。

前は20歳からでしたが、2022年から、18歳からが成人になりました。

成人の日には、たくさんの地域で成人式というイベントがあります。

今日は、街で着物や袴を着た若い人をたくさん見かけると思います。

きょうは、せいじんの ひ という しゅくじつです。

まえは にじゅっさいからでしたが、にせん にじゅうにねんから、じゅうはっさいからが せいじんに なりました。

せいじんの ひには、たくさんの ちいきで せいじんしき という いべんとがあります。

きょうは、まちで きものや はかまを きた わかい ひとを たくさん みかけると おもいます。

Today is Coming of Age day, a national holiday.

Previously, the age of adulthood was 20, but starting 2022, it’s changed to 18.

On Coming of Age Day, there is an event called coming-of-age ceremony in many areas.
