As we continue with our theme of strengthšŖ here on the Habit Thrive Podcast, weāre focusing today on how our doshas relate to our strength training.
Whether youāre a fiery Pitta, an airy Vata, or a grounded Kapha, understanding your dosha can help you tailor your workouts for optimalš results.
š©· Intense, competitive, and strong-willed, Pittas often have a medium build and lots of energy.
In the gym, they come dressed for successš and are comfortable with the equipment.
They are confidentš with their exercise and strength training and may even offer up advice or friendly critique of othersā technique.
Though naturally strong and driven, Pittas can be prone to burnoutš° and inflammation if they push themselves too hard.
ā Training Tips for Pitta:
š©· Vatas tend to be thin, light, and quick-moving, with lots of creativity and enthusiasm.
They may not be suited up for a workout like a Pitta, but they are comfortableš in their attire and place in the gym.
Vatas tend to hang and work out togetheršļøšļøāāļøšļøāāļø, finding support and motivation as a group.
They are often consistently inconsistent; coming to the gym for a few days or weeks, then simply āforgettingāš¤·āāļø about it for a while before coming back again.
ā Training tips for Vata:
š©· Kaphas are solid, steady, and nurturing, with a larger, more robust body.
They come to the gym for the party!š„³
Kaphas are the strongestšŖ - physically - of the doshas, but they take the longest to get and stay motivated.
They are happy being social at the gym, chatting with others and taking their time (to the point that they may not even finish their workoutš«£).
ā Training tips for Kapha:
So, what are you waiting for?
Go find your Dosha!š
And when you do, try some of these tips in the gym and see how understanding your dominant dosha can help you create a more personalized and effective strength training routine.
