110: What's Your Purpose?

Listen Later

Since starting on a journey to clean and organize all of my spaces, it has brought up many thought-provoking things for me to share here with you. The other day I found my old journals from when I was a little girl. As a young girl who was going through her Mother’s Cancer diagnosis and then through the pain of losing her to that same battle, you can only imagine some of the things I wrote on those pages. It is very evident in the writing of these memoirs that my mission to help others heal through their lifestyle choices stemmed from this time of my life. And this is why I continue to do what I do to this day. My why, my purpose - is embedded deep within me and because it was born out of such a loving place, it will continue to drive me for the rest of my life. Even though my purpose is so evident to me when I step back and think about my life as a whole, there are certainly times when my purpose doesn’t feel clear. In these times, it’s easy to get caught up in those thoughts and start questioning everything you're doing. The key here is to think about it, and then let it pass; don’t hold onto these questions. Being clear on your mission and purpose in life is step one in being able to pull yourself out of negative thought patterns. It is much easier to move forward from negative situations when you know your why, and if you’re not clear on your why, you can use a negative situation to figure it out. There is always a lesson through struggle. I challenge you to find your why. If it’s not coming to you, journal about the potential reasons your next struggle has come to you and trust that there is always a greater reason. Then take that why, and turn it into your passion and don’t stop at anything to make it happen. Write about, share it when it feels good, and then think about how you can help others as a result of living out your passion. Decide to live your life with purpose and live your best life possible.
