Customs

The gate of Hell is opened on the first day of Ghost Month. The late ancestors, ghosts and spirits come to the living world, and visit their family members, loved ones, or just roam around. In order to show respect for them, we call them “good brothers”. During this month, we prepare food, incense, and ghost money to worship good brothers. Then they feel satisfied and return to Hell on the last day, and the gate is closed again. That’s the general information about Chinese Ghost Festival.

地獄的大門在鬼月的第一天打開. 死去的祖先、鬼怪、靈魂回到人間, 探視他們的家人、所愛的人、或只是四處遊蕩. 為了表示尊敬他們, 我們稱他們為「好兄弟」. 在這個月期間, 我們準備食物、香、和紙錢來祭祀好兄弟. 然後, 他們覺得滿意, 並在(這個月的)最後一天返回地獄, 而地獄的大門再次關上. 這就是中元節大致的資訊.
