Restorative, Yin, and Gentle Yoga are some of the most effective and underutilized tools for stress reduction, nervous system regulation, and overall well-being.
These therapeutic yoga practices provide powerful medicine for those struggling with chronic stress, burnout, pain, insomnia, and anxiety.
Many women physicians experience life-changing benefits after practicing restorative and yin yoga at my retreats. Once they experience the deep rest, profound nervous system reset, and noticeable shift in their stress levels, they find themselves making these practices part of their daily lives.
Why Restorative & Yin Yoga Work🌿 Activates the parasympathetic nervous system (rest & digest mode) 🧘♀️ Decreases stress & cortisol levels 💤 Improves sleep & relaxation 💪 Supports joint & connective tissue health ❤️ Increases emotional resilience & mindfulness
The Power of Slow YogaWe live much of our lives in sympathetic overdrive—constantly moving, doing, and responding. Gentle restorative practices are essential for balancing the nervous system.
Unlike traditional yoga styles focused on movement and strength, restorative and yin yoga use long-held postures, deep breathing, and full-body support with props to allow the body to completely relax and reset.
Props are not crutches—they are part of the experience. They create ease, comfort, and support, allowing you to surrender into deep relaxation and healing.
Restorative yoga is especially effective when practiced in person—which is why I teach it at:✔ Retreats at Nicasio Creek Farm, Pie Ranch, and Sagrada ✔ Conferences around the world ✔ Live Zoom classes every Saturday ✔ On-demand through my YouTube channel
Why Yin & Restorative Yoga Are a Different ExperienceUnlike vinyasa or power yoga, restorative yoga: 🌿 Requires no effort—just presence 🛏 Is often called "pajama yoga" for its deeply relaxing nature 💨 Encourages intentional breathing & nervous system healing 🧘♀️ Can be done by anyone, at any stage of life
Try Yin & Restorative Yoga for YourselfDo you want to: ✔ Relax more? ✔ Feel less stressed? ✔ Sleep better? ✔ Strengthen your connective tissues? ✔ Learn to breathe strategically?
Try restorative yoga. Even one pose can make a difference.
