Sugar and refined carbs are best known for their effects on weight gain, but these foods are frequently at the root of our worst PMS and menopause symptoms, too, especially when it comes to fatigue, cravings, and mood swings. Today Jess and Cody talk about the tremendous difference it can make when we cut down our sugar intake. If we can stop eating sugar, we can feel more energy, have little to no craving or cramps, have less hot flashes, and so much more! Sugar not only causes major spikes and dips in mood and energy, it can also disrupt one of the most powerful hormones in the body: insulin. And, insulin is closely connected to all of the other hormones in our body, including estrogen and testosterone. So, even if you're not worried about your waistline, cutting back on or eliminating sugar will help rebalance hormones, and dramatically ease our most dreaded cycle symptoms.
Listen in to learn four effective strategies Cody and Jess use to balance their hormones and curb their sugar habits.
