Hey - Sickly Corrie and Heather here with this week's Baking it Down Podcast a la Sugar Cookie Marketing Facebook Group! In this podcast, we talk about best business practices, client communication, & random things Corrie does that annoy Heather.Ā
Here's what we're covering this week:
In the Marketing Minutes, Heather covers a portion of the book she's been reading: Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less.Ā The book focuses on optimizing your life by saying no to a lot of things that detract and distract leaving you to do what you're truly best at. As such, the book requires a lot of "no's" and gives us eight great ways to let someone down nice 'n easy.
In the Business of Baking, Corrie recounts how she turned off a client who was turning on a vehicle the wrong way. The client wasn't educated, but by not taking the time to educate them, Corrie made them feel polarized which lost her the sale. So - spend the extra few minutes educating clients, but hey - most of us don't have a clue over here in "I want it, I got it" land. Bezos has truly ruined us.
In Voicemails, we have someone who is graduating up to "business owner with employees" which is also a tough switch-a-roo. We also have someone battling with "rush fees" - what to call them, how to handle them. After that, how do you market to businesses? Discounts? And finally - what have we learned from the group. Hint: Corrie has learned nothing.
InĀ Group Stuff, we have a few fun things coming up:
In Twinterests, Corrie goes through three Amazon Prime Day deals she loved, and Heather is becoming Bob Ross with Art with Flo - a Procreate Youtube channel with free drawing lessons.
Our Podcast Sponsor is the famed Eddie, Edible Printer you can purchase from Primera. We tackled ink bleed by desaturating the colors to lighter versions. We'll post pics of the purple cow set we've got due this week (pray for us).
Finally - theĀ Mail Bag! We actually got mail in our mailbag today. Debbie Chrisnell of Debbieās Cookie Creations LLC sent us the cuuuutest heat sealer platform that was 3D printed and I am obsessed. I gotta take a picture of it this week and post it to the group. Definitely going to use it this week because tonight I gotta do 4 dozen cookies for thursday.Ā
