Regarding this topic, I guess it pays to(值得) be a loyal customer. I have been subscribed (订阅,订购)to my internet provider for almost a decade and a half(十五年) now and receiving a free gift is something that doesn't happen to me every day. Obviously, it's something unexpected since they weren’t running any promotions at that moment nor did I receive any prior(事先,优先的) information about it. I didn't even join the raffle(抽奖) if that’s what you think.
To make sure it's not a hoax(恶作剧) or that it isn’t a scam(骗局), I asked around and I guess I’m just one of the lucky ones. Accordingly(因此), customers who have been with the company for 10 years are entitled to receive a brand-new smartphone as a token(标志) of appreciation for the continuous patronage(惠顾) we have for the company. Furthermore, out of thousands of customers, only 1000 are randomly(随机的) chosen.
I vividly remembered one of my friends, Lisa, telling me that Christmas came early since she received the free phone, too. I was over the moon when the official representative(代表) was knocking on my door to hand me the gift. As crazy as it sounds, I even had mixed emotions due to the fact that some of the worst experiences came flashing before me while I was accepting the gift. I reckon I tend to be a difficult customer when they are having system issues or during maintenance repairs. Then I realized there are some things we have no control of like me getting a free gift despite sometimes my bad attitude when I deal with them.
