文本素材&亮点词汇:
Describe a positive change that you made in your life
You should say:
What it is
Why you did it
Who you did it with
And explain how you feel about the change
At the age of 20, there were already a lot of changes that happened in my life. Today, I would like to share with you a positive change I had.
When I was in high school, I was so addicted and engrossed(全神贯注的;专注的) in playing computer games. My parents scolded(批评;责骂) me a lot of times which even made them cry and beg in front of me. I was an undisciplined(无纪律的;没规矩的) boy. I used to ignore my parent’s advice. I was unaware of the adverse(不利的;有害的) consequences of my actions.
Until one day, I lost the sight in my left eye. According to the doctor, it was because of too much exposure to the computer screen. My parents were right. I should have followed them.
So, I stopped playing computer games. I disciplined(训练;管教) myself. I listened to my parents. After several days, I suddenly regained my sight. Now my two eyes are working clearly.
Losing my sight for several years hit my heart and head hard. That incident was a lesson for me. Everything that is too much would always have a negative result.
Now, I just focus on my studies and physical exercise. I won’t play computer games again. I've already learned my lesson(吸取教训). That’s enough for me.
