203: Someday Is Today with Matthew Dicks and Miriam Schulman

Listen Later

The question we all really want to know is how to do more with the time we have. Some people crush a 2-hour window, whereas others of us struggle along and get distracted by TV series and social media.

Matthew Dicks is an international best seller with awards for being a nationally recognized storyteller. His latest book, Someday Is Today, 22 Simple Actionable Ways to Propel Your Creative Life is highly recommended and worth checking out!

In this two-part series, we're talking about some fun concepts and ideas that will help propel your creativity in new ways.

Key ideas Matthew makes digestible and simple enough to implement:

  • Make your sleep sacred and honor the rest you need
  • Make the most of your work by repurposing your pieces
  • Be thoughtful about what you spend your time on
  • Consult your future self to make the best daily decisions

"I think we solve a lot of problems unconsciously when we allow those problems to move to the back." -Matthew Dicks

Matthew's approach is extremely well thought out. Coming close to a near-death experience has given him the motivation and perspective he needs to emphasize making the best of every day, every decision, and what he chooses to make time for.

In the next part of this interview, Matthew will unpack eating a compliment sandwich, the enemies list, and why be a criminal and carry a burglar bag.
