Cristal and I recently got on the trend train of experimenting with a Continuous Glucose Monitor to see how the carbs we eat affect blood sugar. CGMs have traditionally been a tool prescribed to people with diabetes to help manage blood sugar and insulin, but they have recently become readily available and accessible to anyone. It is FASCINATING to see how carbs affect people differently. Cristal and I talk about some of the surprising results we experienced (how apples spiked her blood sugar but Christmas Crack did not spike mine) and the many nuances that need to be considered like exercise, alcohol, fasting and sleep. We’re sharing our best insights and recommendations including which CGM was our favorite.
