And the numbers are melting on our brain calendars (which were never any good anyway)

You guys have been asking, and waiting patiently, and WE HAVE NEWS! WE LAUNCHED OUR PATREON SUBSCRIPTION CONTENT THIS WEEK!

Grace has 40 screenshots compared to Tara’s 5000

Grace is reading and whiffing books from the 1940s

In a podcast first, Grace got on a soapbox and couldn’t get off

DILEMMA DILEMMA #1 - I had a really bad few months with executive functioning and panic attacks which led me to believe I’m ADHD and get on a diagnosis waitlist, so bad I had to return home from overseas 2 weeks early, due to anxiety - but I’m feeling so much better now. Is it still worth spending the money to get diagnosed?

We discuss how:

  •  access to meds is a huge comfort blanket, but are meds a silver bullet?
  • life is dynamic, and some seasons are far more intense than others and will tip us over the edge into a set of symptoms that are un-manageable eg. Travel, moving house, grief, breakups, changing careers, having kids, other illnesses
  • how our neurotype (ADHD or AuDHD) shapes how we’ll approach our diagnosis and researching it
  • the “tipping point” that doctors/science talks about with ADHD
  • Why choices around medication and diagnosis are so individual
  • why it’s helpful to do the life admin around diagnosis while you’re not in panic/burnout
  • How un-shaming and radical acceptance can help our executive functioning

DIVERGENT DILEMMA #2 - I have piles of clutter building up. I’ve been married for a year, and feeling so bad that we live in clutter due to my stuff. When I decide I need to declutter, I get decision fatigue and overwhelm. HELP!

We discuss how:

  • Decluttering is a complex multi-decision task that people mistake as simple
  • Physical mess is confronting but emotional mess is confronting too
  • The shame that we feel is real, and that shame stops us from getting started because shame is a dopamine vampire
  • Breaking down what executive functioning is and how it’s not a moralised personality trait, a problem we can tackle together
  • How to approach sorting through clothes that don't fit
  • Self-compassion with our inconsistency and not buying into the myth that we “can solve our ADHD”
  • Some hacks and tips for de-cluttering that are less likely to feel overwhelming
