Caller Olivia's Question: "I have been in and out of trauma therapy the past couple of years. I stop because my husband believes that a few sessions of talking will help me to get over "whatever it is I need to get over". I have trauma from my childhood and trauma in our marriage. my husband has been a monster, he is an addict to prescription paid meds for pain and porn. There has been physical, mental, emotional abuse, gas lighting and sexual assault. We have started work on a lot of this now that he is in recovery, however it seems that we are dealing with his problems and getting him better, but as always I am forgotten. one of his boundaries is lying. I have told lies as what I feel is self preservation, this started when I was very young to keep my safe. I am not sure how to stop and be truthful and authentic. I feel like I am stuck in my pattern of self preservation to keep me protected that I don't know how to stop. I am ready to be venerable. Your podcast has helped me more than any of my therapy sessions?....…"
