Jessica Stenson joins the boys onstage, talking about her preparation for the Paris Olympic Marathon, her second place at the Gold Coast Half Marathon and addresses the commentary that came as a result of her selection for the team.
Timothy Kattam of Kenya was the winner of the 2024 Gold Coast Marathon in 2:08:51, ahead of Belay Tilahun of Ethiopia and Kiyoshi Koga of Japan. Liam Boudin was the first Australian 2:13:56. Yuki Nakamura of Japan was first woman across the line in a new course record time of 2:24:22 with Kumeshi Sichala of Ethiopia second and Visiline Jepkosho of Kenya third, Sarah Klein first Australian in 2:31:55.
The boys touch on some of the at the time some of the leaked selection news around the Men’s 1500m for the Paris Olympics, with Cameron Myers the notable omission from the team.
The Olympic Track & Field Teams have since been fully announced, as listed:
Women
800m - Catriona Bisset, Abbey Caldwell, Claudia Hollingsworth
Men
800m - Peyton Craig, Joseph Deng, Peter Bol
UK Athletics also selected their Olympic teams, with some controversial inclusions and omissions.
Benita Willis then takes to the stage and chats about what it’s like to see her national records being surpassed, being a coach and what she would change about her athletic career. Benita talks about her love of cross country and why she excelled at it, where running culture is at the moment and her work as a Gold Coast Marathon ambassador
Moose on the Loose takes exception to having life advice preached at him by 25 year old influencers.
