Leanne Pompeani sets a marathon debut record running 2:24:53 to place 8th at Nagoya Marathon in Japan, while Izzy Batt-Doyle runs 2:23:29 to place 6th for another World Championship qualifier.
Georgia Griffith sets a new 1000m National Record of 2:35.50 at the Box Hill Burn, while Peter Bol narrowly falls short of his own national record to run 2:16.29, just shy of Jeff Riseley’s record. Seth O’Donnell outran the pack to win the 5000m in 13:22.30 ahead of Liam Cashin and Aidan Veltan, while American invite Taylor Werner takes the 5000m in 15:44.41 ahead of Sarah Klein and Amy Robinson.
Bendere Oboya and Abbey Caldwell both clock Indoor World Championships qualifiers, taking the tape in 1:59.27 and 1:59.72 respectively. Luke Boyes won the men’s 800m in 1:47.34.
Adrian Potter and Tianna Cetta take out the Open 5000m at the South Australian State Track and Field Championships.
Sam Tanner and Sam Ruthe fight to the line for a tied victory, both finishing in 3:44.31 in the New Zealand National Track and Field Championships 1500m final
Marathon World Record holder Ruth Chepngetich places second in EDP Lisbon Half in 66:20, behind winner Tsigie Gebreselama of Ethiopia in 64:21.
