Ethoxylation is a process involving ethylene oxide, a carcinogen, reacted with other ingredients to make them milder. However, this process leaves behind contaminants like 1,4-dioxane, a carcinogen and skin penetrator. The problem lies not just in the primary ingredient but also in the contaminants. 1,4-dioxane exposure can cause various health issues, from skin problems to liver and kidney damage.
