On today's episode Jess and Cody welcome special guest Dave Larsen of Nene & Co to talk about a project Mixhers and the artisans of Nene & Co have been collaborating on to help make a BIG difference for women around the world. Dave shares with us that in the 1970's tens of thousands of men were murdered which left many women in desperate need. This project is providing for two major needs of these women in Guatemala; sustainable income opportunities that empower women with freedom and independence, and period relief by setting up women's health clinics that can provide Hertime and feminine hygiene products.
As you know, Jess and Cody (Mixhers), are passionate about helping ALL women feel their best, so that they can go out into the world and do their best, no matter what time of the month it is. They also have a huge passion about creating opportunities to connect women as a community. Having a period is something that naturally connects women to each other no matter where in the world we are from. Having a period is what has created this community here at Mixhers. As a community, we are even more powerful and can make a bigger difference together.
"Having this opportunity for our community to work together to provide sustainable and ethical work for women in need makes us feel even closer to each other. We are excited to announce the creation of our NEW Mixhers 'Period Pouches' that are handcrafted by women in Guatemala. These beautiful bags have been providing work for talented women that struggle to find a consistent way to provide for their families. We hope to make these creations a consistent addition to the Mixhers product lineup so that with each purchase we can provide work and a better quality of life for these women in Guatemala. We hope that our Mixhers community will join us in our excitement." - Jess Toolson, Mixhers CEO
