  • It's a beautiful day in paradise...

If the weather and your circumstances have to be perfect for you to be happy, you will always be vulnerable. Let's adapt Mr. Rogers' motto: "What's essential is invisible to the eye."

I'm going to be devoting some podcasts to a simple thought or principle. I plan to take one idea from history like Zig Ziglar's story of the pump, or how his neighbor lady's biscuits got cooked in the squat, or the story of Jim Carrey writing himself a check for $10 million - dating it for 5 years later - and seeing it come true within that 5 year period, having starred in Ace Ventura. Jack Canfield's story about attending a Come as You'll Be party and how that set in motion the things he was able to accomplish.

    It's a beautiful day in paradise……

    Episode #849 September 23, 2022

    Questions:

    1. What are some careers, both traditional and entrepreneurial that a high "I" person on the DISC profile would excel at?

    2. How can we motivate and keep our older employees?

    4. I'm 56 - just started a new job. The work is not my passion, doesn't utilize my talents, it certainly doesn't make much money, and there is also no future advancement.

    1. I prepared for an event that has now been canceled. Did I just waste my time?

  • And The Strangest Secret winners are…….

I was blown away at the number of you who committed to 30 days of listening to The Strangest Secret. These responses are so inspiring and encouraging to anyone wanting a fresh start. New habits are easy to do - and easy to avoid. You get to choose.

Here are some of the comments from those of you who wrote your stories:

    Questions:

    1. Even though people consider me a happy person, I had grown accustomed and actually comfortable with negative thoughts and was reaping the fruit of those negative thoughts.

    2. The more I listened to The Secret the more I realized I had the power to change my life.

    3. Negative thoughts discouraged me and made me more timid. Scarcity caused me to believe only a full-time job at an employer with benefits was the way to go.

    4. I have a small garden in my backyard and in one section I planted sunflower seeds. Guess what grew? Sunflowers!

    5. I had been in a bit of a "rut" for the last year, kind of wishing and hoping things were different or better, but unfortunately not really doing much about it. Just continuing on.

    6. I think Proverbs 4:23 says it best advising us to guard our heart (mind) above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

    1. I got a call to help me get my student loan forgiveness. Should I return that call?

  • What's in your cave?

Without moving into areas where you've never been before - areas that cause some fear and anxiety - you can never have anything other than what you already have - what you've already experienced. So if you want something other than exactly what you have now, you have to be willing to look into that cave - and go ahead and step inside.

  • 5 Steps to a Mentor and a better future…….

Having mentors opened the door for me to move from a clear path toward poverty to the life I get to enjoy today. Your direction is not based on luck, family tradition, the economy or the company - unless you allow it to be. You can choose mentors that will guide you to any success you want if you follow these 5 steps.
