In this episode of Wisdom of the Sages, we delve into a powerful lesson from the book Rich Dad Poor Dad, focusing on the importance of associating with the right people.
Our story revolves around the Hawaiian Black Crabs, and their behavior provides a metaphor for the world we live and work in. These crabs, trapped in a bucket, symbolize those who are ready to ridicule and pull others down rather than supporting their pursuit of freedom and success. We explore the concept that small thinkers often find it easier to criticize than to find solutions, and how surrounding ourselves with successful individuals is a key characteristic of achievement.
Join us as we reflect on this thought-provoking tale and gain insights on how to avoid the negative influences in our lives.

In our recent survey the overwhelming majority of you said you dream of running your own business - or you want to grow the business you already have. Fewer than 10 responses said you wanted help in finding a job. And yet a whole lot of the stories you shared told of being in a job now that you wanted out of. So, moving forward, I will be interspersing those stories - only to provide a framework for how to go from the job you have to the business you're dreaming about.
We've got some gripping stories today - from that recent survey that will give us the set up for how to move from where you are - to where you want to be.
So, grab your cup of tea - or maybe your Mt. Dew - and get ready for a power-packed episode filled with practical advice, inspiring stories, and valuable resources to help maximize your opportunities.
Questions:
1. I need to find a new job. It likely won't be a dream job, but it should be better than where I am.
2. I have a JOB but I think it has the potential for passive income.
3. I've been advised to go after the low hanging fruit/opportunity and put my passion aside.
4. I'm stuck in my own version of the Stockholm Syndrome and don't know how to break out.
5. I feel trapped by my resume and my wife wants me to make a sensible choice and "stay in my lane." I want to do something more creative, fun, and exciting.

You know I rarely have a guest on - but today I do because of how this particular topic is a building block for creating the life you love.
Whether it's in quitting your job, getting a new car, moving into your dream house, getting into better health, starting your own business, or becoming a millionaire - it all starts with a decision.
So today I have my friend Alan Thomas on with me.
Alan has a process he calls "Rethink Dieting" - and his approach is right in line with how to achieve success in any area of your life.
So, grab your cup of tea - or maybe your Mt. Dew - and get ready for a power-packed episode filled with practical advice, inspiring stories, and valuable resources to help maximize your opportunities.
Questions:
1. What does it mean to really decide to do something?
2. Why do some people mask their feelings of inferiority by being overweight?
3. Why good people resist being told what to do.
4. Why success (or failure) in one area of our lives spills over into the other areas.
