"Scott Jenkins lives and works in London, UK as a Marketing Manager for Johnson & Johnson’s knee portfolio. Born in Penarth, Cardiff, Wales, he moved to London in 2013 to pursue a career change from a GP exercise referral personal trainer to join the corporate world of Johnson & Johnson. His career has flourished as a result of his strong mental attitude, which he often attributes to his strong ultra-running resume. Scott and his brother Rhys, always look to create their own extreme ultra-endurance challenges, and where schedules match up, complete them together. By doing this they have raised over £50,000 for a variety of different charities, all of which have a special connection to each of them. In recognition of this, Scott via Johnson & Johnson, was lucky enough to complete an Operation Smile mission in 2015 in Mekele, where he assisted in screening and in theatre for the repair of Cleft Lips and Palates. Since then, Scott has been selected as 1 of 3 UK Ambassadors for the charity Operation Smile. Scott has overcome some tough mental and physical challenges in order to complete his challenges in the past, including rhabdomylosis.”

I loved pretty much every single minute of this talk with Scott, super inspiring and loads to learn. I think often ultra athletes are a little bit pigeon hold to be a breed of their own but this is not the case, the things we learn in ultra are useful in so many areas of life. I also enjoyed talking to Scott about his desire to complete challenges that are not official races, the risks, the feelings and the rewards of these opposed to traditional races.
