Today we’re going to share 6 negotiation tips for influencers. We had such a great conversation on Clubhouse about negotiation tips with our friend Austen Tosone. We wanted to make sure you guys had a chance to hear the tips on the podcast.
Some of the tips we discuss include:
Tip #1: Don’t send a rate sheet
Instead, let the brand know that each collaboration is priced differently depending on the number of deliverables, timeline, exclusivity. You should ask the brand for their budget. You can literally send the brand, “what is your budget for this campaign?”
Tip #2: Understand what you can negotiate: (all these things are 100% negotiable)
Tip #3: Share your stats as social proof
If you’re producing content, you’re seeing how it performs with metrics like reach, impressions, engagement, and more.
If you want a brand to talk to a brand, you need to bring your metrics to your table. Brands are businesses who are motivated to drive sales, acquire new customers, generate leads, and build brand awareness. Brands measure and track their performance with metrics (key performance indicators or k.p.i’s for short).
