This week's episode is with athlete Chad Spring. Chad has competed in a variety of races around the country over the last few years. Recently he's taken on Ultra Spartan Races and various ultra marathons including the Never Summer 100k in Colorado and the Barkley Fall Classic in Tennessee.

I met Chad on a run a year ago and last weekend he invited me to join him for part of his extra badass Saturday Spartan Race training which consisted of 19ish miles of powering up steep trails by his house and 2 miles of carrying an 80lb bucket of sand.

It was .....insane.

After joining him for part of the workout I sat down with Chad and chatted about all things Barkley Marathons (one of the most difficult races in the world) and 50k, preparation and balancing training with life, Ultra Spartan Races, and his experience competing in the Never Summer 100k (a race I'm tossing around as a potential 2018 goal race).
