Is hormone replacement therapy (HRT) everything it's cracked up to be? Who should (and shouldn't) use it? When, and for how long? Do the benefits outweigh the risks?
These are just a few of the questions I cover in this episode of The Midlife Feast with my guest Dr. Annice Mukherjee, a consultant endocrinologist, hormone expert, and author of 'The Complete Guide to The Menopause'. Dr. Mkherjee brings her three decades of experience to the midlife table, along with her personal experience of going through early menopause due to a cancer diagnosis ten years ago.
We discuss why women were scared off of hormone therapy in 2001, and what has changed in the past 20 years since the results of the WHI study were published.
