Welcome to 2024, Habit Thrivers!đ„
Itâs a new year, a new week and a new opportunity to make the most of your habits and routines.đ
Our theme here on the Habit Thrive Podcast for the month of January is: Rest and Reset.đźâđš
With the holiday season behind us, the decorations put away (for some, anywayđ«Ł) and a fresh slate aheadđ, now is the time to take a deep breath and bring into focus the goalsđŻ and to-dos we want to put on our list for the new year.
On Episode #81 today, we are taking inventory of our habits and routines and asking ourselves âWhen is enough enough...where you feel content and satisfied with just the right amount?âđ€
Many of us over the holidays felt the effects of too much-ness:
At the same time, you may have also so been affected by not enough-ness  (I know I was):
It happens to all of us to some degree over the holiday season so first things first, is to give ourselves some grace đ and then....
Step 1 of determining when enough is enough is to simply recognize which habits you are over- (or under-) doing:
đ«Maybe youâve spent too much time on Netflix or social media.
đ«Maybe youâve neglected your daily walks.
đ«Maybe youâve veered off your healthy eating track.
Step 2: Make a list of the habits and routines that you would like to tweak in terms of enoughness.
Step 3: Be mindful and notice when it feels just about right.
âI am satisfied with cleaning my house when the kitchen sink is free of dirty dishes and the counters are wiped down.â
âI am satisfied with my caffeine intake when I feel alert and not like Iâm forcing down those last few sips of coffee.â
âI am satisfied with completing one episode of my favorite Netflix show. It helps me look forward to another episode tomorrow.â
Once you notice when you feel your best in your habits and routines, you can start making tweaks with Step 3: Setting limits for certain habits until they become automatic.
Before you know it, you will have set yourself up with a successful routine that will lead to less stress, less overwhelm and more feeling fabulous!đ
