Last week on the Habit Thrive Podcast, we kicked off the month of February - and our focus on a month of love❤️ - by talking about self love and one of my favourite strategies: Embracing my Me Now Years.🤗
This is a time in our lives when we prioritize our personal well-being and focus on what makes us happy, content, and fulfilled.🥰
This week on Episode #86, we are going to explore examples of embracing these Me Now Years and the challenges that come along with that.
Many of us take this time to indulge in hobbies👩🎨 or new skills that we might have enjoyed before but never really had the time to throw ourselves into:
Or we might bring our focus on to nurturing or revisiting relationships with family or friends:
It seems like a wonderful time of life - And it is!🥳
But it can also come with its own challenges.🫣
Often, we enter our Me Now Years while we still have responsibilities like children, elderly parents, businesses, etc.
It’s common to experience feelings of guilt😕 when trying to find a balance between these responsibilities and our own personal wants and needs.
But you can help that through communication and good planning… write it down!✍️
We also might be afraid of being judged by others for choosing our own happiness.
What if they think I’m lazy?
What if they think I’m irresponsible?
What if they don’t trust me to handle important tasks?
WE know that those things aren’t true; and it’s likely that no one is even thinking them.🤔
But it’s hard to keep that fear from creeping in.🙁
Financial concerns are another challenge in our Me Now Years.💵
Pursuing new interests, traveling or making significant life changes can be costly.
It’s important to create a budget, prioritize your expenses and consider alternative ways to fund your aspirations, such as side hustles💪 or crowdfunding.
Our Me Now Years can be a new and exciting time for self love and appreciating ourselves.
Just remember: Plan it out, stick to the plan, and ENJOY!😊
