  • Highlight: Bill Goldsmith On Losing Control Of His Ego After Reality TV // Video.

This highlight from my episode with Bill Goldsmith dives into the tumultuous years that followed his reality TV appearances on the 'The Bachelorette' & 'Bachelor In Paradise'. If you enjoyed this snippet, head back to my page to discover the full episode.

    --

Bill Goldsmith emerged from the Australian franchise of The Bachelorette with Ali Oetjen as season 4's villain. I admitted to Bill, that as a viewer of the show that year, that I didn't like him at all. In the years following the Bachelorette & his time on Bachelor In Paradise, Bill didn't like the man starring back at him in the mirror, in fact, he hated who he was. That is why, he changed & evolved, going back to a life he knew well before TV fame & stardom. A simpler life, congruent with the values he developed as a young man.

Bill speaks of his childhood with a smile. Growing up in Victoria's Dandenong Ranges, as he describes: 'with a feminist hippie mother & no TV'.  A childhood surrounded by nature & real life interaction. A world so far from the attention & social validation that comes with reality TV & social media, it's fair to say that Bill was stepping into the unknown when he signed up for the Bachelorette adventure.

We spoke about him losing control of his ego in the years that followed the show, re-connecting with his values & finding real meaning in the life he now leads. We dive into the effects of social media on society, modern culture's dopamine addiction & what really happens behind the scenes of a reality TV show.

I love that Bill can own his mistakes & has chosen to grow in the wake of those realisations. We spent the morning running, sitting down for a coffee & recording this conversation & after it all I can honestly say the man I met was far from the villain I disliked on TV all those years ago, he is a good man with honest intentions.

  • Highlight: 3 Mates Share Their Near Death Experiences // Video.
In this highlight moment from ‘3 mates read their eulogies’. the boys discuss the science behind the ‘life reviews’ that we have in moments of a near death experience. A compelling conversation sure to encourage personal reflection. In the name of vulnerability, Brad (The Captain) has come together with 2 of his best mates Tye (Phoony) & Joey (the zoolander) for a series of episodes to tackle some of life’s big questions, topics & the tough stuff that we so often choose to battle in solitude. The aim is to inspire you to connect with your mates in vulnerability & hold space for each other on the foundation of unconditional love & support, whilst encouraging positive mental health. The boys feel so blessed to have the incredible friendship they do & it’s no coincidence that our depth of conversation has created such strength in our bond. This week they wrote their own eulogies & discussed the topic of death. It got incredibly emotional, honest & it was liberating. In the acceptance of our inevitable deaths (hopefully to come in the distant future) we are often reminded of what we truly want to live for in the now. Todays episode was a celebration of that.Be sure to follow the boys on socials @bradleyjdryburgh @joeplumb_ @phoony103Follow/Subscribe to the show on your platform of choice, leave a 5 star rating & kind review to help us reach new listeners & uplift others like yourself around the world.Big love xx

  • Highlight: Zac O'neill On: His Dream To Climb Mt Everest Without Oxygen.

This highlight from my episode with ultra runner Zac O'neil discusses his dream to climb Mt Everest un-supported & without oxygen. A feat so difficult that more people have been to space. A dream now fuelled by his passion for ultra running & mountaineering. Checkout the full episode with Zac on this platform if you enjoy the highlight!

    --

Zac O'neil is an ultra runner & mountaineering enthusiast. His passion for running first fuelled by a more vein pursuit to 'look good' in the wake of a break up. Zac describes feeling insecure about his body image for a large portion of his life. That deep seeded insecurity now weighing a little lighter on the mind as so many look to Zac as an inspiration for not what his body looks like, but rather what it is capable of.

In the lead up to Zac's recent 240km ultra from the sandy shoreline of Eden in the South Coast to the top of Australia's largest peak, Mt Kosciuszko, he had to conquer both a 100km race in Alice Springs & a 160km race in the Central Coast to qualify for Australia's highly regraded 'Coast To Kosci'.

As they say, 'Rome wasn't built in a day', neither was Zac's feat in conquering the 240km race. It is the product of the past 5 years, building a body & mind resilient enough to tackle huge challenges. We discussed what the last 5 years have taught him about life & himself, in a very inspiring yet down to earth conversation.

It was an honour to have a man that I consider a mate, share a conversation on the poddy & celebrate the accolades he has worked incredible hard to achieve.

  • Highlight: Lachie Stuart: The 'Yes-Man' Mentality Responsible For Societies Mental Health Crisis.

This highlight from my episode with high performance coach Lachie Stuart reveals the secret to taking charge of your time & crafting a path for genuine happiness, meaning & success in your life. If you enjoy this segment, I highly suggest listening to the full episode as well!

    —

Lachlan Stuart is a men’s high performance coach. Working with 7+ figure clients to achieve business & life success through the structures of his business ‘the man that can project’.

Though Lachie wasn’t always a leader. The former rugby player was once lost & in his own words spiralling out of control. His Achilles heel was the deep seated desire to fit in & it was fuelled by illicit substances, alcohol & violence.

It’s fair to say that Lachie’s new found path of leadership was inspired by a former teammate who recognised a young man with potential & decided to lead Lachie towards a more prosperous path of self development & success.

In this episode we discussed the reason so many humans are unhappy & lacking vision within their life. Breaking down the construct of time to arm you with the tools to control it & create a path of success in your own life. I have learnt so much from my time with Lachie & I know so many of you will take real wisdom from what he has to say!

  • Highlight - Josh Kerr: Seeking Validation & Acceptance In Others Made Him Feel Like A Coward.

This piece of conversation was a highlight from my full episode with Josh Kerr. His desire to feel validated & accepted amongst his high school peers led to him feeling like an outcast from his indigenous culture. We spoke about fitting in vs belonging, why true belonging is found in self acceptance & the indigenous mentors who helped him create a stronger connection with his culture.

If you loved this highlight, you can listen to the full episode on your platform of choice. See the show notes below.

Josh Kerr is one of the St George Illawarra Dragons forwards & an indigenous All-Stars representative.

When meeting Joshy, you are confronted by the mighty man-mountain's sheer size but after getting to know the man, it is no surprise that his larger than life personality & his compassionate heart are what he is known for amongst his family & friends.

Josh grew up an hour North-West of Brisbane in Narrangba. Sport was a huge part of his early identity & it is where his passions for rugby league & aussie rules were formed. With opportunities to pursue both sports, Josh eventually decided to walk the rugby league path, not without his fair share of hurdles along the way. Alongside the desire to make his family proud, his driving force was the determination to prove an early doubter wrong & prove he could be part of the 1-2% of players who make their NRL dream a reality.

A proud Aboriginal man from the Quandamooka Nation in Stradbroke Island, Joshy had his early struggles with culture. The criticism & racist jokes in the school yard created a drift with his culture, choosing to 'fit in' before realising that true belonging is found in celebration of our culture & self acceptance. Now loud & proud about his passion & pride to be an Aboriginal man, one of his great honours was to represent the Indigenous All-Stars.

Josh has an incredible heart & a desire to leave those he encounters feeling uplifted, it's the reason I connected so easily with him when we first met. His story is inspiring & it was my honour to share it on the show.
