Robin dives into his career in the recruitment industry, especially his current role recruiting in the animation and gaming industry. Having grown up in the shadow of Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, animation has always been a part of Robin’s life, despite his early career as a banker. A lucky break as a sculptor put him on the path to where he is today, as a leader in animation and gaming recruiting.
Robin talks about the changing landscape in recruiting with all the technological advancements in the world today—not just in the way animators and game developers work, but in the way the connected world and social media have opened the world up to recruiters like him who used to be limited to the pool of artists found in the Los Angeles area.
Robin believes technology also pulls back the curtain on certain recruitment practices, forcing the industry to operate in a more transparent, accountable, and human fashion. These are all changes in the industry that he finds refreshing.
