Alex Caspero, Co-Founder of Plant Based Juniors, Talks “The Plant Based Baby & Toddler,” and Discusses Soy, Supplements, and Plant Based Myths

Today on the show we welcome Alex Caspero, co- founder, of Plant Based Juniors. Alex and her co-founder Whitney are both registered dietitians with a passion for making childhood nutrition as effortless as possible. On this episode Alex talks all about their new book, The Plant Based Baby and Toddler, which offers easy-to-digest nutritional facts and guidelines that aren't available elsewhere, with a special focus on the most important period of a child's life when it comes to developing good eating habits: infancy and toddlerhood.

On this episode we unpack myths about childhood nutrition, and discuss everything from establishing a healthy microbiome from early childhood, meeting nutrition needs through food and supplementation, and how all children, whether plant based or omnivores, can get more nutrient dense food options on their plates. This episode, although very educational for parents, has something for everyone. Even if you don’t have children, you can learn a lot from Alex’s expertise. She has a wealth of knowledge and an easy and non-dogmatic style in her approach to plant based eating. We even talk about the best way to navigate the social components of food for developing children.
