  1. Number 1: Lily's Confession, Conrad's Chat-Up Lines & George Sells a Car | The Archers Week in Review

Philippa and Quentin cover the week (so far) in Ambridge — Sunday 23rd to Tuesday 25th August — and it has been a week of romantic entanglements, awkward confessions and a rather impressive car sale. Lily confesses the Harrison kiss to Rex, who is about as subtle about it as Lily was, and Fallon is already picking up vibes. Conrad arrives and is immediately flirting with both Fallon and Lily, makes his interest in Fallon very plain, and is either a smooth used car salesman or a decent bloke — the jury is still out. Fallon keeps the shutters firmly down. Harrison and Lily have not contacted each other since the kiss, which nobody believes will last. George, meanwhile, turns out to be a natural car salesman. Martyn Gibson plays it beautifully, listens to what George has to say about the plug-in hybrid with comfort memory seats, and secures the sale. Both hosts are very impressed. Quentin's prediction is already on the table. Lynda handles the appalling Diane magnificently, gives her a dressing gown and calmly shows her the door, then has a moment of uncomfortable self-reflection about whether she used to be the same. Robert and Lynda's finances are taking a real hit. Rex's manly odour after moving gravel all day gets a mention. Brian puts the wrong address on a delivery and Alice sorts it out — and gets a romantic dinner, whereas Adam would have been told off. Alice and Rex's smoochy scenes are becoming a lot. And Oliver Turner's second week writing for the show gets a very warm reception. A big announcement too: All About The Archers is now available as video on Apple Podcasts — thousands of you watched last week without being asked and thank you very much indeed. Plus Star of the Week, Twit of the Week, predictions including George as the next Top Gear presenter, and Quentin is off to Edinburgh to see Ben Norris in his Fringe Award-winning show The Distance. Topics covered: Lily Pargetter | Harrison Burns | Fallon Rogers | Conrad | Rex Fairbrother | George Grundy | Martyn Gibson | Lynda Snell | Robert Snell | Brian Aldridge | Alice Carter | The Archers August 2026 Hosted on Acast. 2. Number 2: Monty's Fate, Khalil's Secret & Eddie's Corner-Cutting at Meadow Farm | Archers Week in Review

Philippa and Katie are back together for the week in Ambridge — Sunday 16th to Tuesday 18th August — and there is a lot to process. Monty's story moves to a heartbreaking conclusion as Lynda and Robert say goodbye and sign the documents. Katie cannot cope and Philippa has questions about the rehoming process, the DNA fingerprints, and whether there is more to come from that evidence. Meanwhile Harrison and Fallon's relationship continues to unsettle, a possibly flirty exchange between Harrison and Lily gets noted, and Mick is becoming CSI Ambridge. Khalil is struggling and Keira has been quietly keeping his secret — until Susan unknowingly spills the beans. Now Azra knows, and neither host is convinced she is going to handle it well. There are real concerns about Khalil bottling things up, particularly given his history. Eddie is filling in for George at Meadow Farm and is cutting every corner available to him. George, remarkably, was right. Ruth still has not booked the genetic test and both hosts are furious about it. The Cruck Barn is taking shape with an exciting programme of rural crafts, jewellery making and creative writing — but can Ambridge actually afford it? And nobody has acknowledged the heatwave or drought even once, which is bothering everyone. Plus Lynda's DNA fingerprints, Rosie and Pip moving into the bungalow, who is now paying rent on Rickyard Cottage, and a key that would not work properly. Star of the Week, Twitter of the Week and predictions including Lynda being unmasked as a mafia gang leader. Topics covered: Monty | Lynda Snell | Robert Snell | Khalil | Keira | Azra | Eddie Grundy | George Grundy | Ruth Archer | Harrison Burns | Fallon Rogers | Lily Pargetter | Cruck Barn | Elizabeth Pargetter | Susan Carter | The Archers August 2026 Hosted on Acast. 3. Number 3: Monty's Arrest, Lynda's Nightmare & a Village Fete to Remember? Archers Week in Review

We are back from our summer break — Philippa is solo, as Katie and Quentin are watching the eclipse — and it has been quite a week to return to. The village fete on Sunday was a genuine highlight: Chelsea without scissors, Lillian as an unlikely fairy godmother, Fabrice to the rescue, Carol's chaotic scavenger hunt and the great entry fee debacle. Philippa loved it. Then Monday arrived. Monty has been taken into police custody following the attack on David and Ruth's sheep, and Philippa found it genuinely traumatic to listen to. Harrison handling the arrest with calm professionalism while Robert and Lynda fell apart. Lynda trying to gather character references. Robert and the gate he didn't fix in time. The bed and breakfast guests who left a day early and whose children apparently hosed down a bloodied dog without telling anyone. The question of whether admitting liability was the right call without legal advice. And the looming question of whether David and Ruth will ever agree to let Monty live. Also this week: Elizabeth being dismissive of Freddie, Alistair's advice to Harrison, Lillian's solution to everything being brandy, a possible Lily and Amber friendship, and Philippa's theory about why Monty has been behaving so strangely. Plus Star of the Week, Twit of the Week and three predictions including a sheep-shearing barber shop. Back to normal next Tuesday. Topics covered: Monty | Lynda Snell | Robert Snell | Harrison Burns | David Archer | Ruth Archer | Elizabeth Pargetter | Lillian Bellamy | Chelsea | Alan Franks | Carol | Amber | Keira | The Archers August 2026 Hosted on Acast. 4. Number 4: Khalil's Photo Controversy, Justin's Crisis & Fallon's Cottage Dilemma | Archers Week in Review

Philippa, Katie and Quentin cover the week in Ambridge — Sunday 30th August to Tuesday 1st September — and it has been a week of age, ego, moral grey areas and one very good piece of news about Monty. Khalil posted a photo of Justin walking Ruby off the lead on farmland. Justin's main concern is not that he's been caught out but that he looks stooped and is wearing purple. He wants a defamation of character letter from a solicitor. Quentin thinks Khalil has been cruel and self-righteous. Katie thinks he was just showing his age. Philippa thinks good for him, because Ruby off the lead on farmland is exactly the kind of thing the Monty story should have taught everyone. All three disagree and it is brilliant. Justin, meanwhile, is staring down the barrel of turning 80 and is seeking highlights, filler, face treatments and a wrinkle lift. Chelsea handles him with enormous skill and talks him out of the hair dye. Lillian is already exhausted by it. Alan loses his temper when a cricket ball comes through his window mid-Carol-phone-call, and Pat comes for him about it. Quentin is firmly on Alan's side. Philippa is firmly on Pat's. Alan brings up the Rob baptism and the graffiti. Katie thinks that was a step too far. Nobody fully agrees with anyone and it is exactly what the podcast is for. Fallon talks to Jolene about not wanting to be the first to leave the cottage. Harrison talks to Leon about Lily. Both are clearly not moving on as fast as they are claiming. Philippa thinks they need a solicitor and the house on the market immediately. Jolene gets compared to Annie Wilkes from Misery. And the wonderful news: Monty has found a home with a former police officer. Katie is relieved. Philippa was sobbing last week. Plus a theme of age running through the whole week, a new cast interview announced for the Facebook group tomorrow, All About The Archers now available as video on Apple Podcasts, Star of the Week, Twitter of the Week and predictions including Henry getting signed up to bat for England. Topics covered: Khalil | Justin Elliott | Fallon Rogers | Harrison Burns | Alan Franks | Pat Archer | Chelsea | Lynda Snell | Monty | Jolene Archer | Lily Pargetter | The Archers September 2026 Hosted on Acast. 5. Number 5: We Interview Dr Charlotte Martin — Susan Carter's Journey from Gossip to Village Sage

Philippa sits down with Dr Charlotte Martin, who plays Susan Carter in The Archers, for the first of two episodes — for a conversation about one of Ambridge's most beloved and most underestimated characters. Charlotte talks about how Susan has changed almost imperceptibly over the decades — from naive young girl to gossip to, increasingly, the person people come to for genuinely good advice. She reflects on the solid foundation of Susan and Neil's marriage, Susan's complicated relationship with social aspiration and what Jennifer Aldridge represented to her, and why the moment Alice and Chris got together felt like Susan finally arriving. They discuss the George storyline in depth — the awful dilemma of reporting your own grandson, the echoes of the Clive situation, and why Charlotte believes George has always had a good core and is now finally finding his way. There is a warm and considered defence of George that may well change how you hear him. Bert gets his own section. Charlotte reveals she was in awe of the actor who plays him because of The Detectorists, explains why Tracy has always borne the brunt of his care and what that says about their different childhoods, and confirms they have had enormous fun recording those scenes including the walker coming up to the microphone. Plus: Keira and the audition that made Charlotte's mind up immediately, what Susan's friendship with Jolene could look like and why it should happen, the case for Susan getting her radio show back with an agony aunt slot, the 75th anniversary tour and what it has been like playing to packed houses of genuine fans, and the biscuit question. Part two, with listener questions from the Facebook group, follows in two weeks. Topics covered: Susan Carter | Neil Carter | George Grundy | Amber | Keira | Bert Horrobin | Tracy | Jennifer Aldridge | Alice Carter | Jolene Archer | 75th anniversary tour | Angela Barnes | The Archers 2026 Hosted on Acast.
