With four decades of never-before-seen footage from McDaniel's packed vault, the film spotlights the series' global influence on Hip Hop, along with his professional and personal triumphs.
The new Christmas movie “Love Hard” tells the story of a holiday romance gone wrong when Natalie [Nina Dobrev] realizes she’s been catfished on a dating app by Josh, who is played by actor and comedian Jimmy O. Yang. Yang joins us to discuss his new role as a romantic lead, and his career in comedy.
[REBROADCAST FROM MARCH 11, 2021] We reair an interview with pianist and composer Jon Batiste about his albums Chronology Of A Dream: Live At The Village Vanguard and Meditations, which were Grammy nominated at this year's awards. He also discusses his score for Pixar's "Soul," and his latest album, We Are, which have since earned him nominations for next year's awards.
Batiste is currently nominated for 11 Grammy's, the most of any artist this year.
In a new documentary, director Jonas Poher Rasmussen interviews his friend, identified by the pseudonym Amin Nawabi, who opens up about his past for the first time, which includes his journey as a child refugee fleeing Afghanistan. "Flee" employs visually stunning, and gripping, animation to tell Amin's story and bring his 20-year tale of survival to life, as well as the impact of his keeping it secret. Rasmussen joins us to discuss the documentary ahead of its premiere in theaters on December 3.
